Post by: SteveH on January 04, 2021, 10:02:48 am
Gerry Marsden has died aged 78 following a short illness.

The legend shot to fame as the leader of the 1960s Merseybeat band, Gerry and the Pacemakers.

A pop icon of the Sixties, he was best known for the hit You'll Never Walk Alone.

I saw Gerry at the Venue Cymru a few years ago and he was good.   He kept drinking pints of water during his act as his voice seemed to be quite gravelly then.
His music will be remembered in the future and nowhere more so than at Anfield home of Liverpool FC

I did too Hugo, he was with PJ Proby on one of those 60s shows.  You'll never walk alone was always used as the last Waltz when I used to go dancing when I was in my teens.! <:>
