The object of the game is to post a cropped/close up of an everyday item and for the forum to guess what it is. ££$
I'll start us off, let's see how it goes :)

Decorated neck of an item of clothing. Piece of chain-mail on an orange cloth. Item of jewelry. Whatever it is I ain't got one, again! _))*
-
no, sorry Yorkie and it's unlikely that you'd have one but it is a common item that a lot of people will have, they may not all be able to use it but they would like to.
-
I'm going to give up on this one, however, I am reminded of an expression my Mother would use if she couldn't describe an item. She called it "A wig-wam for a goose's bridle!" I don't know if it was just her expression or summat from Yorkshire! So that's my last guess! _))*
-
I really thought this one would be easy and the woodgrain would have given it away
-
Door Handle
-
Is it a guitar?
Sorry to butt in but i am facinated!
SCMP!

Well done SCMP ZXZ

I think "most homes will have one" is somewhat far fetched! I don't know one of my friends who has one, but now I can see it! ZXZ

Welcome to the forum SCMP! &well&
-
I had one about 20 years ago until her indoors put her foot through it! Just shows what a successful player I was. Went onto a Stylophone then as I could keep it in my pocket! L0L
-
here we go again
-
D'ya know Brumbob, that could just be a Stylophone keyboard! L0L _))* ;D $uk
-
Just testing to see if you really had one in your pocket ;D
-
guess
-
Door bell button. From the style it could be a Friedland Model.
-
oh, yes, correct on both counts
I knew I'd have to make it easier for you :P
don't think I need to post a full size picture of a doorbell push :)
so
-
If they are not rough diamonds it must be silica gel crystals, or depending on magnification used maybe rock salt.
Don't make 'em too easy I do like a challenge!
-
It's the rock salt $salute$
-
Stitching on a cricket ball?

-
Cummon Trojan - you should have got that! Cricket balls are b***y RED! L0L
So what is this?
-
Looks like a mousetrap.
-
What's this then?
-
Well done with the mousetrap! Sugar cubes? Wouldn't think it was granite. Could be tofu!
-
Well done with the mousetrap! Sugar cubes? Wouldn't think it was granite. Could be tofu!
No, try again. ££$
-
I'm glad somebody else is posting pictures :D
I thought it was brown sugar at first, obviously hard to fathom the size, must be pretty small and the surface they are standing on is interesting
I'll go for grains of sand
-
Aren't they just what they seem to be? i.e. Granite Cubes, to be used in building, paving etc?
-
No, no, no, Bob was the closest with sugar.
They are, in fact, grains of table salt magnified 75 times.
Incidentally, the structure of mineral salt is as a cubic crystal. A single grain of Kosher salt is composed of many cubes, stuck together into a big grain. As a result, a single grain of Kosher salt can absorb much more liquid than a grain of granulated salt. Below is a photograph of a grain of Kosher salt, magnified 75 times.
-
It don't look like that when I get it from the Rabbi! L0L
-
Whats with the Burger King / Ronald McDonald Drive by shooting?
-
The King's popping a cap

-
Looks like a black truffle to me - but then again it could be anyone of a thousand things! _))*
-
I'm sure that says meteorite under the photo?
-
He wouldn't be daft enough to leave the detail of the item on the photograph - would he? OK - maybe he would, but I think the shape is too regular. _))*
-
He wouldn't be daft enough to leave the detail of the item on the photograph
WWW
-
OK you little Devil - just so that we know whether it is or not I'll say Meteorite! L0L Because it is a common item that we all have lying about our houses! ZXZ
Although on second thoughts I guess that it is just a plain ol' peppercorn!
-
Well done Yorkie, it was a
meteorite peppercorn
-
what am I
-
grain of rice
-
Here's the proof.
-
?
-
A good trick-ology question.
Split end of a human hair!
Taken with a scanning electron microscope
-
&well&
-
what am I
-
Red Blood cells.
The incredible image was captured using a scanning electron microscope (SEM), with magnification factors of up to 250,000 which incredibly gives details of 1 to 5 nm in size.
-
What's this then?
-
Frog or Toad?
-
Good guess but not correct.
-
Green Avocado?
-
Just too easy for some people! &well&
-
What is this then?
-
It's the Christmas decorations that wrex has always wanted
-
Crystalized Soy Sauce
-
I thought you would be able to tell by the chinese writing, but I suppose you were directed to the web site suggested by the few words I left on the picture!!! Well done Sherlock! D)
-
:o no it was a pure guess
-
what am I
-
pollen
-
Grass pollen, well done Andy ZXZ
-
Here's a new one - what is it?
-
Is it the inside of a Kiwi Fruit?
-
Mould?
-
Cells? with the black speck being the nucleus?
-
Stir fried frog spawn in lemon grass sauce
next
-
None of those!
-
Chameleon skin ?
-
You are all right - and I declare the game as a DRAW. ZXZ
The reason is that I have lost the original picture with the name of the "thing" and for the life of me I cannot remember what it was or where I got the image! I thought I would make it difficult for everyone and succeeded in completely buggering it up for myself also! Trojan may be able to find it as he does get a lot of the ones I post.
My profuse apologies to all who posted answers which I do know are incorrect. ¢¢##
-
ha ha, hilarious
what am I?
-
Velcro fastening
-
yes, you obviously use the same site
-
I'll have a wild stab at peas!
-
you missed :P
-
I knew you wouldn't make it so simple! :P :P
If I'm using the same site why didn't we find my last Quiz item?
-
we're both senile
-
What is this
little item?
-
Sunspot?
If it is then it would be about the size of earth!
-
I have got to say close but not exact. It is actually the SUN. Z**
-
Ok not a magnified nucleus or any thing
-
Looks like a file folder. The kind of thing I keep my invoices in.
-
Just prepared some for breakfast, mushroom or toadstool gills. Only prepared the mushrooms of course!
-
Yep your right OV.
-
What is this little colourful object?
-
Chip.
-
You hardly gave me time to post it Bri! It seems I still can't get one past you fellas.
-
Yorkie, the clue is directly underneath the photograph. LOL
-
After my little sojourn away I'm not back up to speed yet! What a crass mistake! I normally rename just before I post. Who cares, it's only a game! L0L
-
Its only a game indeed.
Yorkie, I knew you couldn't stay away...(in fact you didn't did you!)
Now, you can't tell me that the microchip is not some kind of alien technology recovered from the Roswell crashsite.
How can those colourful little strips of whatever do 1000's of calculations per second. Nope, I'm not having it.
We are not that clever. Hell, the human race hasn't even managed to make a convincing wig yet!
-

Ah. but I knew that at least one person would know that I hadn't moved far. Won't mention his name. ;D
Don't you flog a cream for follically challenged people? D)

-
A map of the Mediterranean ... only by spotting Italy did it become clear to me...
-
Good game! Good game! Well done. :D
-
What is wrong with this painting?
-
Yorkie, is this the picture that is a forgery that you have already posted on the Quiz time out of area?
-
Looks the same, but why it is on both threads I don't know!
The other was « Reply #1310 on: June 19, 2011, 06:42:17 PM » just 1 minute later. I was having a bit of trouble with posting it so it may just have replicated itself. It is just another of life's mysteries! :D
