PLANS for a ?5.9 million scheme to develop 21 brand new affordable homes in Penrhyn Bay have been approved by Adra Housing Association.

The 21 homes will be developed at Plas Penrhyn and will comprise of one specially adapted two bedroom bungalow; four two bedroom bungalows for individuals aged 55 and over; eight two-bedroom houses and eight three-bedroom houses.

They will include a mix of social rent and intermediate rent properties.

Beech Developments (NW) Ltd have been appointed as developers, with work on site progressing well.

New low-carbon homes at ?6m Conwy scheme set to slash heating bills

HEATING bills will be slashed by more than 80 per cent at a ?6million development of 21 low carbon homes in Conwy.

The properties, at the Plas Penrhyn site in Penrhyn Bay, are being built to passivhaus standards thanks to a partnership between two housing associations, Adra and Cartrefi Conwy.

The timber frames and posi-joists for the affordable homes are being custom made for the Adra scheme by Creating Enterprise, a subsidiary of Cartrefi, at its factory in Rhyl.

TWO BURGLARIES and a suspected attempted burglary have been reported in Penrhyn Bay.         ref pioneer

Police said the break-ins happened overnight, and possibly into the early hours of Sunday morning (April 28).

The incidents took place at Glan-y-Mor Road and Penrhyn Beach West.

The force warned residents to be mindful and ensure their homes were secure.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "Please be mindful and ensure that your homes and outbuildings are locked and secure, particularly overnight.

"House to house and CCTV enquiries have been done and enquiries are ongoing.

"If you have any information that may assist or private CCTV in the area , please contact police on 101 or via our Webchat service quoting reference 24000384051."

Plans unveiled for new all-weather football pitch at secondary school
Locals have expressed concerns about the proposal

Plans for an all-weather football pitch at a Welsh secondary school in Penrhyn Bay have been unveiled. Conwy?s education department has applied to its own planning department, seeking permission for an all-weather artificial grass pitch at Ysgol y Creuddyn on Derwen Lane.

The planning application includes six flood lights, 2-metre high earthed mounds with 1.5m acoustic screens at the northern and eastern sides of the pitch, perimeter fencing and storage space. The pitch also includes a modular changing pavilion with two changing rooms and private showers and toilets.
