A decision should be made by Easter.

I first read that as 'A decision should be made by Fester' !

My decision is...... Conwy will merge with Denbighshire.   (Which is what the BBC news reader said!)  ;D

I see Tom Jones has been announced at the headline act for this year's 'Access All Eirias' event in Colwyn Bay this Summer. Nice to see a proper big name booked at last!

He might be a big name but unfortunately the ticket prices are gigantic so I think I'll be giving this one a miss  ???.

They're far from pricey compared with other major venues.

For me the ethos (such that it is) of the "Access All Eirias" event has been destroyed.  The first year had a free concert on the Friday night.  OK there were no stellar names but we were able to attend as a family and we had an enjoyable night out and it was noticeable that there were a lot of other families there as well.  Last year the Friday night tickets were kept cheap (I think they were a fiver?) and again no stellar names but we could afford to go as a family and had a good time and again there were lots of other families there.  This year there's absolutely no chance of affording upwards of £160, to be honest although myself and my wife both work we couldn't afford one ticket let alone four.  So this year we feel like we've been excluded and I suspect many other "average Joes" living in Conwy County will feel the same.  Personally I'd have preferred it if they've kept with the policy of booking lesser known artistes and keeping the ticket prices at an affordable level.  Hopefully this year they'll do things back to front this year and we'll able to go on Saturday instead.

Who wants to go to a concert where about all you will hear is screaming and shouting and very little of the Artiste's performance.   Tom Jones, after all is a Pensioner, past his prime, and why young girls and women want to throw their underwear at him is unbelievable.

However, I do remember meeting him at Shepperton Studios before he was well known and will ever be grateful for him teaching me how to play the chord of F# on my guitar.    :D

Yorkie, Tom Jones is great, a pensioner maybe, but still great.

He is an international star and a Welsh/British institution.   (delete where not applicable)

I would pay a lot of money to see him, somewhere like Manchester or London, but I will be working when he visits Colwyn Bay.

I agree with you.  I never said he wasn't any good, but I prefer to be able to listen to a performance rather than get involved in the hysteria that seems to be an essential aspect of the act.
