Firefighters battled blaze for hours in incident that closed main road through seaside town
Six fire engines attended the major fire in the centre of Colwyn Bay

Firefighters battled a blaze for hours in the centre of a seaside town. The North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were alerted shortly before 7pm yesterday evening to a fire in a building on Abergele Road in Colwyn Bay.

Police and firefighters attended the incident and the main road was closed to traffic. Six fire engines attended - including both engines from Colwyn Bay and Llandudno.

They were joined by the aerial ladder platform and an incident control unit. Fire crews used breathing apparatus, hose reels and a main line to tackle the blaze, supported by thermal imaging cameras.

They warned people to stay away from the area near the Pavilion pub as they fought the fire.

The crews spent more than five hours at the scene tackling the fire before the stop came in at just before midnight. There were no casualties.

That was very quick and a good try Cambrian but you're not correct this time.

I must have a look at that one in Felin Isa next time I go to Talgoed Nursery for breakfast

Very similar to many roadside wells in the area.  At a guess is it the one below the A470 at Glan Conwy on the lane down to Felin Isa ?

A friend told us how much she enjoyed watching a TV drama called The Cuckoo so we decided to give it a go.   It's a four part drama series on Channel 5 and we watched it over a couple of nights.     There were some good actors in it and we found it well worth watching

It's nice to look at old photos and they bring back happy memories of a bygone age.     that young boy hasn't changed in all the years that have elapsed since the photo was taken.
Rhos holds many memories for a lot of people and I can clearly remember riding on a toastrack tram going past Rhos on Sea Golf Course when my father pointed out to me a boat that was being laden with Limestone from the Little Orme, nice memories.
It is only in very recent years that I found out that where the Pier once was, was in Caernarfonshire as I assumed it was in Denbighshire

It made me think of the time many years ago when I worked in a Government Building that had the Dole Office on the ground floor.
We would see the same old faces going there week in week out to sign on for their Dole money.     We came to the conclusion that half of those signing on didn't want to work, a quarter were unable to work because of health reasons and the other quarter were already working on the sly

I was having breakfast in the sun lounge this morning when a very plump female Greater Spotted Woodpecker flew onto a tree and started eating the peanuts from the nut feeder.
My camera wasn't handy and I didn't want to move as any movement usually frightens the Woodpeckers away.    She was feeding for quite a while before eventually flying off

The photo was taken some time ago
