UK to pay failed asylum seekers to move to Rwanda under new scheme

Failed asylum seekers are to be offered up to ?3,000 to move to Rwanda under a new voluntary scheme.

The plan, first reported by The Times, is understood to be a variation of an existing voluntary returns scheme, where failed asylum seekers receive cash to return to their home country
That earlier plan was bonkers too,  under that system the failed asylum seekers were returned to their home country but it was within their human rights to try and return to the UK  again and so the circle would continue

Return of Prodigal Ken to Welsh Government cabinet could spell new approach on roads
New First Minister has unveiled the reshuffled ministerial team

First Minister Vaughan Gething has announced his new cabinet with a return to frontline politics for Ken Skates. The Clwyd South MS had previously held the Economy and Transport brief and was widely praised for his performance in that role.

But after the 2021 Senedd election he stepped back for personal reasons although remained an active backbencher. Now though he has returned as minister for Transport and North Wales in a new look cabinet.

Mr Skates had been a fierce critic of the scrapping of a number of major North Wales projects - like the Flintshire Corridor and third Menai crossing - after the Wales Roads Review. His appointment could spell a change of direction although funding constraints could limit what he will be able to deliver.

He will have to ask JFS if it?s ok to change back after all it was her that championed a blanket 20,  she made a real passionate speech in the Senedd for it.

NORTH WALES MS Sam Rowlands has made his pledges as he's appointed Shadow Health Minister.

Mr Rowlands was elected to the Senedd in 2021, representing North Wales. He has served as Shadow Minister for Local Government since then.

Welsh Conservatives leader Andrew RT Davies MS has today (April 18) announced a new Shadow Cabinet, with Mr Rowlands MS taking over as Shadow Health Minister.

Isn't this the same person who said that he would arrange a peaceful demonstration against lockdown rules on Llandudno's promenade in 2020, then failed to turn uo at the event?
He sounds like the perfect choice for a shadow Health Minister

Rwanda plan: Irish government wants to send asylum seekers back to UK

The Taoiseach (Irish prime minister) Simon Harris has asked Ireland's justice minister to bring legislation to cabinet to enable asylum seekers to be sent back to the UK.       The Taoiseach seems in a right Paddy over something the UK has had to put up with for years

First failed asylum seeker sent to Rwanda under voluntary scheme

The UK has returned a first failed asylum seeker to Rwanda under a voluntary removals programme, it is understood.
Under the scheme, announced last month, migrants whose claims are rejected are offered up to ?3,000 to move to the east African country.
Sounds like a good deal, well for the illegal migrant it is,     Who said crime doesn't pay?         

It is separate to the forced returns scheme the government announced two years ago.

Norman, you're almost as cynical as me but that was a good point and after all there are some by-elections this week
When we were in the EU we had a similar policy and paid the migrants for volunteering to be deported, but it is also in  the migrants Human Rights to go through that procedure again if the migrants again enter the UK illegaly
