I know it, Llandudno Wholesale Co.  Thanks, Quiggs.  :)

I think Flints was where the one stop shop is now. My mum was the cook for Mr Flint in the 60`s. I think it was a cafe and a shop.

When I saw the illustration on the advert it looked to me like where the Wedgewood Cafe used to be.

Anybody know anything about "Cafe Monet" in Vaughan Street?
Or the "Cambridge" restaurant in Mostyn Street?

I believe Cafe Monet is currently for sale.

The Cambridge is the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Llandudno.

Specialist Art shops in Llandudno/Colwyn or Conwy?
« Reply #38 on: July 06, 2011, 10:30:47 am »
Hi I wondered if there are any art shops (selling art equipment and paints) in the area. My girlfriend maybe taking on one of the degree courses and Llandrillo college, but may need to buy equipment, is there any shops around there for this kind of thing?

Any help is much appreciated!

Fancy a day trip to London?  The London Graphics Centre in Covent Garden is the best and gives a reduction on presentation of NUS card.  Wonderful choice.  If there is anywhere round here the choice wont be as good.

haha she nearly kicked me in the mouth when she saw London  ;D

There are some good shops in Chester, but really locally would be better, I mean she has some stuff already, but I suppose the internet is another choice.

There used to be Sheldons in Penrhyn Road, Colwyn Bay, but that closed down about a year ago.

Would Craft Llandudno in Mostyn Street have anything?

Just been to Home Bargains for my usual exciting shop of bleach, toilet cleaners etc and was very surprised to see a huge range of artists materials, paints, sketch books brushes and all manner of crafty bits and pieces. I kept my hands firmly in my pockets, as I have so much craft stuff that I could set up a shop ! Might be worth a look !

When Sheldon's closed down, Alpha Business Centre (ABC) further down Penrhyn Road started to stock artist's materials as they saw a gap in the market.  That said my missus goes to a specialist art shop inb Bangor that has a lovely little gallery upstairs to get all her stuff!
