Great programme for the town, just wish they hadn't kept chopping and changing back and forth so much !

after those rave reviews today i can see you run off your feet Mike, so I will have to drop you some more golf balls off soon. It must have been recorded early in the day the pier looked very busy, got to be good for business

Great advert for the town.

Does anybody have any idea how old those aerial shots of the pier must be?

It was a great ad for the town but I was curious that the goats - which act as a fair draw in their own right - were never mentioned.

I thought it a shame the goats weren't mentioned too and does the beach look like that??  Also wish they hadn't kept chopping and changing but good ad for the town

the chopping and changing is a good idea to keep you watching when there are things going on that you are not really intrested in, can drive you nuts at times.

For those of us who frequent the town outside the hours of daylight, I have to report that things are NOT getting any busier.

Today on the Pier, it first started to get busy circa 1pm, and it was pretty much dead by 4.30pm.
To be fair, my accounts from last year told me that the same phenomena had started back then.

Tonight, these are my pictures taken in Upper Mostyn St at 10pm.
It should have been rammed, with visitors and locals alike.
However, Fountains Bar didn't have a soul in, neither did Cooney's,   but at least they were open......!!
Unlike The Gresham and Lilly who were starting to close up, due to lack of customers.

From what I see on my  visits to Llandudno, usually to the Nationwide or Asda, most visitors seem to be getting on a bit and unlikely to be out at 10pm, probably they are like me watching a bit of telly before going to bed. Younger visitors with kids are probably just day visitors who go back to their homes or holiday caravans near Rhyl. I'm only guessing here, no facts to back it up!

Yes lots of night clubs closing, seems younger people prefer festivals these days. I was talked into going to a couple of night clubs back in the early eighties, a truly horrendous experience! As far as I'm concerned they can close the lot of them!

The only comment that I can add to this thread is that we were absolutely heaving all afternoon in the Charity shop yesterday..................a lot of older ladies, ie not your nightclub types.

I think what we've been seeing in the last few years can be described as 'compression', both in terms of the summer season itself and the individual days within that season. The season seems to grow a few days shorter every year, whilst the busy element of each day seems to be compressed into a fewer number of hours.

It's also interesting how the spending patterns of visitors have changed. For example, on the Pier, people will happily buy a coffee or beer, and spend a few pounds in the arcade, but are far less likely to buy something from one of the retail kiosks. Are retail purchases now seen as non-essential, or are the items on sale just not attractive enough to force a purchase?

Tell you where was packed last night

St Georges hotel  $good$

Jeremy Corbyn 'mad man' endorsed by the TTF can certainly pack them in.

About 30 people couldn't fit in the main room and was packed outside in the hall ways
