Did any of hislittle helpers knock at your door asking for money?   If not it was probably the real Santa, otherwise it could have been the Round Tablers on their usual Xmas Fund Raising efforts.    ££$

Mrs Fester and I popped down to the Parade...and enjoyed it as usual.
Seen about six of them, but its a nice thing to do..... you don't see such things in most towns!

Mercifully, the rain abated in the late afternoon,... in fact its a standing joke in our house that we know it will rain on parade day.. it always has.

I'm with Medz though,  I am sick of the sight of the tired looking Star Wars stormtroopers... they are in it every year, and poke thier noses into the Victorian Extravaganza parade too!    Thats even more inappropriate, at least Star Wars films are on telly at Xmas..( a tenuous excuse)

I saw this comment on Facebook last night:

"Just seen Darth Vader and some stormtroopers lead the Christmas parade through town - I wasn't aware that the 25th of December was the day we celebrated Anakin Skywalker's birth. Llandudno Town Council, you are WITHOUT QUESTION an absolute embarrassment and about as much use as a fart in a spacesuit. Go and take a 2,296ft walk on our 2,295ft pier."

Good effort but it won’t keep the goats out

No, but, apart from Llys Heulig Drive, nobody really minds them. They are happy eating bushes (not grass) and have been around the Orme for well over 100 years---and the visitors on whom we all rely love them.

Nemesis, I bet you have not lived here that long?
If you had you would know the Goats have followed the same pattern for years and years.
My husband remembers them going into his garden on Gloddaeth ave in the 60's.
They have an excuse to foul the pavement, not like the s..t machines that humans walk around with and let foul the pavements.

We had the goats in our garden constantly when we lived in Gloddaeth Avenue.   The peculiar thing was that they only ever ate one certain plant.  No good asking me which as I know nothing of horticulture.  The regular pruning by the goats seemed to help the plant rather than anything else.   Long may they reign, especially now that we have moved away!!     ZXZ

There are are at least THREE shrub-like things they are partial to - hebes, pyracantha, and escollona. I have seen a friend's plants of those types well and truly pruned in Abbey Road.

PS Cartier, I don't think you are going to get a very polite reply from Nemesis - she has been around in Llandudno for quite a while.

Oh, I appear to have stirred up a hornets nest in mentioning the goats. Sorry. But Nemeses, I must say that as far as clearing up after them goes, I would claim to have the record experience on this subject. Mike
