I was talking to someone earlier today who usually knows about what goes on locally and they said that they heard a woman was attacked at some time last night in the area that is accessible to the public out of banking hours to access the ATM Cash machines.

Line I've had from police on HSBC incident:

A 40 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault on a woman  in the vicinity of the HSBC bank , Gloddaeth St / Mostyn Street.  It was reported at 4.55am on Sunday 21 .

Llandudno Superbowl to close on New Year's Eve with TK Maxx tipped to take the site

Dec 23, 2014 10:35
By Owen Hughes

Ten pin bowling centre has announced it will shut its Mostyn Champneys retail park site but clothes firm could bring 40 new jobs by the spring

A ten pin bowling centre is set to close at the end of the year in a move that should pave the way for clothes retailer TK Maxx to come to town.

The Llandudno Superbowl at Mostyn Champneys has announced on its Facebook page that New Year’s Eve will be its last ever night.

This was confirmed by staff at the facility.

The announcement comes six months after the Daily Post revealed that the park owners has applied to change the use of the bowling facility to retail.

In the application they said that branded fashion retailer TK Maxx was due to take up the site. According to landowner Mostyn Estates the new retail store would open in spring 2015.

Park owner Hercules Unit Trust (HUT) said the move would create 40 jobs and be the first stage in a number of developments aimed at enhancing the retail site’s “role and attraction”.

A spokesman said: “Crucially, the current TK Maxx proposal is considered an essential key element of an emerging strategy that is directed at ensuring Mostyn Champneys realises its full potential as a modern, attractive retail park that can continue to attract Llandudno new retailers that require comparatively large retail units.”

Llandudno cllr Ronnie Hughes said: “The closure of the Superbowl and last week’s announcement that Homebase would close on the retail park is terrible news for all the staff involved but the good news is that there are people wanting to come here.

“TK Maxx coming here would be good news for the town and I am already told that there is demand for the Homebase site.

“Retailers want to come here and this will be good for jobs in the coming months and hopefully those who are losing their jobs can take these new ones. But it is terrible for them to have this uncertainty, especially over Christmas.”

The move to turn the site into a clothing retail unit has upset nearby Parc Llandudno who say it will undermine their complex and Llandudno town centre.

TK Maxx got drawn into the debate saying that they had “quickly dismissed” the unit offered on vacant land at Parc Llandudno as there was no prominent frontage and it would be squeezed between two other units.

They said it was not a suitable alternative to the Mostyn Champneys site.

TK Maxx would not comment this week.

What happens to those motorists who are stuck in traffic and do not manage to vacate Mostyn Champneys within the time designated for free parking?

What do you all suggest to sort it all out once and for all?
They can't reduce the amount of outlets there, a victim of it's own success perhaps?

Manually manage the traffic exiting Mostyn Champneys at known critical times.

I think I have mentioned it before on the Forum; when ASDA made there presentation to the Town Council, and during the Public Consultation, I brought up the question of Trafffic management, and the ASDA "Consultant" produced a 400+ page document to show there would be no problems!   Can't see one would need 400 pages to say that!
Wrex was also a Councillor at the time so can probably also remember the event. ZXZ
