Another divorce?

Mind you, handing over money to Jim Edwards (ex Chairman of Llandudno Rugby Club and local failed businessman) doesn't help either...

How is Jim anything to do with Bonkers and 147?

He lost about £50k (possibly as much as £60k) which he 'invested' in one of Jims businesses. At the same time he was telling Jim that he could barely afford to pay the wages at 147.

And I wonder what will happen now to the lease he signed with Mostyn Estates to build and run the new Golf Range on Bodafon Fields?

Isn't that what being a business man is all about? Risk and reward?

Just had a walk around Llandudno this afternoon, there's a New game open to all ages, can you tell the difference between some leaves and a pile of dog muck on the pavement, apparently not every one can, judging by the smeared residue everywhere, the situation appears to be on the increase perhaps on these darker early evenings our "responsible" dog owners are not so responsible.... $angry$...out of sight out of mind.   $angry$

This situation is always worse at this time of the year, as we seem to get people with 2 and 3 dogs coming into the holiday flats for extended times. Also they aren't good at keeping their dogs on a lead and/or under proper control. :(

A DILAPIDATED former youth club close to Llandudno town centre has been bought by a landowner who says it’s keen to redevelop the site.
The former Youth Centre building in Trinity Avenue, was originally used as a Cottage Hospital before the construction of the present Llandudno Hospital.
But since the Conwy County Council run Youth Centre closed several years ago and was put up for sale, the condition of the building has deteriorated and it has been subjected to vandalism.

Last week Mostyn Estates purchased the property from the council, with the intention, says managing director Edward Hiller, of replacing it with residential accommodation, designed to fit with surrounding properties.

“The building has hung around unused for a considerable time and is increasingly becoming an issue for the locality," he added.
"Whilst it undoubtedly has some historical context for Llandudno, it is neither listed by Cadw or in the town’s conservation area.
“It is on a prominent site close to the centre and this area has seen significant improvements over the past couple of years, such as the station refurbishment.

“Moving forward with a new scheme for the property demonstrates our confidence in the underlying prospects for Llandudno."
Plans for future use of the site are still under discussion, but Mr Hiller says given that it is surrounded mostly by residential properties, this is the most obvious future use to provide a mixture of reasonably priced accommodation.
He said: “The layout and shape of the existing building doesn’t lend itself to re-use, so demolition will be necessary.
“However we will be carefully removing a number of the features and materials and looking into the feasibility of incorporating some of them in any new design."

Norman no matter how much i go on nothing changes, the town council have no ambition too make the town xmas attractive,no desire and what these shops make of the lack of effort i don;t know.Madoc st lost one of its stringe 5 years ago and if you look its rediculous, have they made any effort to replace it in 5 years i doubt,to much effort. Why nobody is interested baffles me but one lone person will never get Lloyd st mob moving.

Maybe it would be a reasonable idea to start a petition, either on line or using sheets of paper like the old days?  Surely with a direct approach, the Shopkeepers, their customers and their Staff would be willing to sign, and the Public would probably queue up to do so.  You kow how the British like queuing!

There are folk out there who will lend a hand so you would not have to tackle it all yourself.  A bit of publicity would also help, contact the NWWN and the Post and Pioneer for support.

You could ask for help from the County     and Town Councillors   but that would just be a wasted effort!

Now if it was a skip you wanted, with a non existant dining facility, that's a different matter!

Petitions and letters of objection seem to have a habit of disappearing within high places. :o From experience a certain planning issue was vociferously objected to locally, but when questioned about, it was found that quite a lot of letters of objection had been mislaid..................Until the local press was threatened. Funny how they were found 'in another file' &shake&
