This whole Bryn deal is not finished yet........a pillar' of local council has let slip a potential, big, issue.

I smell yet another Freedom of Information request coming on!   Haven't had a reply to my last one about Port Eirias!  Must chase it up!    ZXZ

A few days ago there was a post I think from Wrex suggesting that I popped down to Haulfre Gardens to check on whether or not the Parks and Gardens had turned up. Well today I managed to pop down. AND I went back up, but not popping, more spluttering.
Anyway, and in fairness to P and G, there has been a lot of strimming on the grassy banks. Not at all easy. But not much else, indeed probably nothing else.
The trouble obviously is the fact that they have no manpower. They are trying to do the impossible. Run large gardens on steep slopes with a handful of men.
So --- its back to Westminster, bankers, politicians et al.   How much more cash can they squeeze out of local government?

I guess it was in the NWWN today, and posted on Oscars Blog......

The issue seems to be that Bryn want's his 'curved kitchen', but to fit his 'curved kitchen' in, the skip will need a central pillar removing......at much expense to someone.
It seems the Council may be coming to their senses and pulling the plug.
They will then get their Costa Coffee, or similar in there.

One thing CCBC don't lack is manpower. The problem is that most of them are sitting behind desks rather than actually working at the front line of public services. Having said that, Haulfre Gardens is not difficult to maintain. Most of it is left to its natural state anyway; the only areas that require regular attention are the lawns and (to a lesser degree) shrubberies. A private gardener costs about £10 an hour, so why don't the Town Council just shell out a few pounds for someone to work a morning a week there? Just one gardener on a regular basis could make a big difference to the appearance of the place. I'm just amazed that local Councillors are doing nothing about these very visible problems - are they not aware or do they just not care?

I was going to have a word with one of the CCBC officials on the Prom today, about the beach issues... but he seemed a bit busy as I passed by.
