There were a lot of comments on this thread criticising the council over the poor state of the flowerbeds both along the Prom and throughout the town. It happens every year as the early planting is replaced with the new summer flowers. Perhaps this year, with the cuts in staff it’s just taken a little bit longer. As for the clock the hands will be back when the floral display is established.

I think we were talking about shrubbery actually, rather than summer bedding. There isn't actually much summer bedding along the Prom anymore, as it has mostly been replaced with shrubbery and perennials which are currently dying off due to a lack of watering.

I wonder how CCBC managed to find the millions to buy an office block in Colwyn Bay when they were supposedly so strapped for cash?

Saw this today on the Prom, coincidentally, a weed and rubbish filled area of shrubbery. How does such a complete lack of maintenance tie in with the council's 'Destination Conwy' plan, I wonder?

There is a large yellow flag flying on the promenade near the boat jetty.

It is an award from Keep Britain Tidy.

Is that not in respect of Bathing Water quality?    Z**

We both could be right, Yorkie.

Upon closer inspection, it is a Seaside Award from Keep Wales Tidy and the flag is undated.

It is the same award I commented upon two years ago.

We walked around Happy Valley gardens a week or so back and it was nice in places but an overgrown mess in others. The water feature was running but it only ran half way along the rill as there is still a leak in it. They're still using metered water instead of a pump to recycle the water, must be costing a bit.

Is the Friends of Happy Valley Group still going?
