Good news but it's just a shame BT removed the K6s from town in the first place.
Only a shame if you never actually had to use them! They were dirty, generally vandalised and they stank.

What on earth are these massive rigs appearing in Llandudno Bay this last few days? I thought they had to be so many miles off shore!

They will be sheltering from the weather

I haven't been to Llandudno recently so I didn't see them, but I can see some rigs working near the windmills off Colwyn Bay and they are massive too.

3 leg jack-up platforms, normal work platforms for shallow waters. The ones working on the wind-farm installation are actually quite small by industry standards.

The rigs I can see are the same height as the windmills so the others must be absolutely massive.

We ventured out earlier to watch the 10K Nick Beer running race.

It started from the War Memorial at noon and the runners ran round the Great Orme with the wind against them and back to the prom passing the Empire Hotel.

It finished outside Venue Cymru.

The winner from Eryri Harriers did it in less than 32 minutes and was 2 minutes ahead of another Eryri Harrier competitor.

Incredible really when you consider it took us nearly 20 minutes to walk along the prom from the War Memorial to Venue Cymru.

Are these rigs permanent or just until they do the job they have to because the by The little Orme has his legs firmly planted in the seabed?

The legs raise and lower so that the rig can be firm on the seabed when it is working, or to settle itself to ride out bad weather.   ZXZ

The wind yesterday made it a really tough race, was almost blown off my feet around by the Rest and be Thankful. None the less I was pleased with my time of 48 1/2mins and well done to Rob Samuel for winning for the second year running!

Conwy County and Llandudno in particular got a nice bit of free advertising courtesy of Griff Rhys-Jones on ITV tonight.  He seemed to like everything but the offshore windfarm, what's wrong with the man  8).

Indeed Andy,  he made a very big point of showing all viewers how he 'turned his back' physically on the wind farm.
Sadly prospective visitors wil remember that.

It was a great little programme, good for the whole area.... a shame about the abomination in the bay.

He never did buy his sought after Welsh-Dresser did he?
