Work is stepping up a gear at the Clarence Hotel, more vans and workmen appearing every day:

I did stipulate at peak times Ian i.e. over Bank Holiday week ends and if you think it's only 30 cars that get it wrong, please come and sit in my front garden and count them for yourself. It's a lot more than 30 per hour despite what Yorkie might think.

I had a chat with the guy on the gate, today, and he's a pretty shrewd bloke.  Apparently, the maxi,um numbers they have going through the toll gate on the busiest days is c. 450, and he reckons about twice that number do a U-turn.  But, and here's the interesting bit - it's not because of the toll, but because it's mainly comprised of people wanting somewhere to park.

Right Ian, now add to that the Cars that turn around before going up to the toll gate because the car park under the cliff is full, then add the Cars coming down from the Happy Valley, both of which the pretty shrewd guy at the toll gate can't see or estimate and even Yorkie will have to admit my maths in my original post were correct. I only call it like I see it. Traffic signage is rubbish.

Walking through Mostyn Street today the lovely flower displays on the street corners are near enough dead through lack of water, what a waste of money! Meanwhile the weeds growing under the seating are flourishing.Come on council, pull your finger out! :rage:

Full marks to the Albany and Sherwood hotels on the promenade for their beautifully tended tidy gardens. This lovely display of sweet peas and dahlias was in the front of the Sherwood Hotel.
