Apparently it was closed down last week by the elf and safty  guys, its ok removing all the glass but it did act as a safety barrier now of course it lands straight on their customers heads, its just penny pinching, letting the place wrot.

There is a lot of plywood being carried inside today - are they really going to re-roof the glass canopy with plywood?!

The silly thing was that 80% of the glass canopy was fine, but it all got ripped out instead of repairs being made to the broken panels. I believe the quote to reglaze it all was approx £20k.  :o

Can they do that? I seem to remember some hoo-ha when a shop in town did the same.

Rumours that the drain cleaning is related to Fester having a very large meal on Sunday are completely untrue.  :-X

The plywood has now been painted black and used to build a wall outside the Boulevard, partioning off some of the area under the canopy. Looks terrible!

Probably totally unrelated but the Welsh Water station just above Black Gate on the Orme has been the centre of quite a lot activity from worried looking staff today.  First time I've seen them have all the water storage covers up. (There's a joke about them "looking into it" just waiting to come out but I've resisted the temptation) Also a large number of drain cleaning wagons going up and down the Orme all day. Could be related to the fact that we are coming up to the end of the financial year and budgets needing to be spent I suppose

Funny you should say that but when I was on the promenade earlier I am sure most of the sand that used to be between the wooden jetty and the lifeboat slipway has suddenly disappeared.  :(
