Call me the grim reaper but with such a big event in town could the parks department not have planted up the Carlton roundabout and other things en-route,such a shame that nobody on CCBChas any thought for Llandudno.
Even Rhyl is doing better than us, a new Promenade and a working water feature!

How long before that water feature in Rhyl is choked up with Subway wrappers, McDonalds Big Mac boxes and beer cans?

To be fair, it's been there for 10 years at least, so they must be looking after it.

has anyone reported these scammer's to the council?

Conwy County Borough Council : Street Trading Consent http://bit.ly/IEtFHe

Street Trading Consent
A Street Trading Consent allows you to sell in the street, road and footway or any other area where the public have access.

Do I need this licence and am I eligible?

If you trade in the street you may require a street trading licence.

What you must do?

Etc.  Etc.  etc.

My pal's Freedom of information request received the following answers.

Apologies for the inconvenience – please find the information cover the
period 1st May 2011 to 27th April 2012.

Q1 how many Street Trading Licences have been applied for within the
last  year up to and including (if possible) the date of receipt of this
enquiry.

A1. 6

Q2. Of the applications received will you also advise me how many have
been approved, how many have been refused

A2. 5 approved    1 refused

Q3. The total revenue generated from the fees

A3. £2930.00

Q4. Breakdown of location

A4. The Licences cover areas within the County of Conwy – a detailed
breakdown is not routinely held in a separate file. However if this
information is required for your purposes please let me know and I will
arrange for a search of the relevant files for the exact locations to be
identified.
~~~~~~~~~~~
From the answers it would seem that the majority of street traders are getting away without authorisation or payment!     Maybe this is a Revenue Stream that the Council could cultivate through the Traffic Wardens or the Highways Department!
If that is true, then I feel desperately sorry for the Beach Cafe.
This is a disaster for the town just before the Bank Holiday.
Also, for anyone living within a mile radius, extra vigilance is required.
It's pouring with rain today, as the heatwave of the last week or so ends. In other news, CCBC have just started to fill the Paddling Pool....seriously!  :laugh:
Thank you for giving me that laugh, just what I needed after the gypsy news.   CCBC are like a tragi-comedy.
If they have then they must be living in a Nissan Micra, a Ford Focus and Mini because that was all that was on the West Shore car park five minutes ago.
It's just a joke!   I was driving past last week and it was a beautiful hot day and that paddling pool would have been full of children enjoying themselves and making the most of the weather.
 I wonder what excuse CCBC have for this, perhaps they are not allowed to fill the pool before a certain date but whatever reason, it is ridiculous.   Craig Y Don Councillors should have ensured that this pool was full especially because the spell of good weather had been predicted.
When I drove past this afternoon it looked like they were cleaning the paddling pool in preparation for filling it.  As it's the 31st May today it won't be filled until June so does anyone know if there are any set dates for when the paddling pool is filled and for when it is emptied?
