has anyone reported these scammer's to the council?

Conwy County Borough Council : Street Trading Consent http://bit.ly/IEtFHe

Street Trading Consent
A Street Trading Consent allows you to sell in the street, road and footway or any other area where the public have access.

Do I need this licence and am I eligible?

If you trade in the street you may require a street trading licence.

What you must do?

Applications should be made in writing to the Council using the relevant application form.

You must provide specific information, including details of the street you wish to trade on and the days and times you wish to trade.

You may also be required to provide two photographs of yourself.

You must comply with any conditions attached to a licence.

You must be over 17 years of age to hold a licence.

What we must do?

The council will either grant the application or serve a notice on you within a reasonable time.

The notice will be served if the council intend to refuse the application, grant it on different terms than those applied for, confine trading to a particular place in a street, vary conditions of a licence or revoke a licence.

The notice will detail the grounds for their decision and state that within seven days of the notice you can request in writing the opportunity to make representations.

Charges and Fees:

Annual Consent      £2,000

Six Month               £1200

3 Month                   £650

1 Month                   £225

1 Week                    £150

1 Day                        £50

Useful Information:

Licences will be refused if any of the following grounds exist:

there isn't enough space in the street you wish to trade in, without causing interference or inconvenience to street users
you are unsuitable to hold a licence for any reason made known to the Council
you have previously failed to pay fees due under another street trading consent
any reasonable reason
Redress mechanisms:

There is no right of appeal against a decision to refuse Street Trading Consent.

However, the decision or procedure followed by the Council may be open to an application to Judicial Review.

I was in Oriel Mostyn yesterday and this exhibit caught my eye. The sheer scale of it is impressive.

More than 700 bottles?  I imagine Mike Ormegolf's drinks cabinet to look similar...

On the other topic, I would imagine that the magazine scammers are contravening several laws.
Fraud, (as they are not who they claim)
Extortion or Demanding money with menaces...(as they OVER assertive in their manner)
Misrepresentation of goods, (sale of goods act)... as the item for sale is not what it purports to be.

I'm just sick of all these people ripping people off rather than attempt to get an honest job.

A lone Kite Surfer on North Shore this morning tackling the strong winds and waves. I've never seen them there only on West Shore. Probably because the wind direction is from the North East. Strong winds forecast, again from the North East, for the next few days. Joy!

A poor day and no good for Great Orme golf. I followed Mike along Mostyn Broadway a short time ago and he had obviously given up on any customers turning up. Indoors by the fire is probably the best option today.

A much better day today but still a bit breezy.

Where is everyone today? It's very quiet on here, only two posts all morning. Are you still in Llanberis Dave?

No, I'm in Llandudno today, Stan.

Things have been rather quiet on here lately, even though unique visitor numbers this month have soared to over 11,000. I can only assume all those visitors love to hear the thoughts of the few active members on here.

What I found interesting on Facebook yesterday was that I posted a couple of old photos on one of the Llandudno groups and received more comments in an hour than we've had in two days on here.

Maybe we'll all end up chatting on Facebook instead of here in a separate Forum? It would be interesting to know how many members aren't on Facebook?
