T & T weeks keep the town going at this time of year. And the visitors love them.

I honestly didn't know "Tinsel and Turkey" existed. Amazing.

I am now walking daily past an hotel which is fully trimmed for the silly season and it's not on the prom either. Gives me a dose of the 'glooms'

Worse than ever--- went into Store 21 yesterday and Christmas music was merrily blaring out. :o I made a hasty exit !

I'm sitting in the sun on the deck outside Ski Llandudno Lodge. Coffee here is terrible but the views make up for it.

The old Motorworld shop on Upper Mostyn Street is to become a Manor Fine Foods shop, run by the same people who run the Manor Hotel in Craig Y Don

Lot of work going on to get the Past Times shop (formerly Bay Trading) ready for business. They must have had 6 or more people stocking the shelves today.

I heard a tragic story last night about a landlord in Llandudno (I'm not going to mention names) he was running a pub for Punch Taverns. After doing his uttmost to make the pub work, Punch truly F*cked him over. This poor lad was driven to attempt suicide,(I contemplated it myself over the Albion, I know how he feels) something has to be done to protect these poor people. I'm not posting this as idle gossip, please don't think I am. I'm just recognising his plight. It will probably take someone to fall over the edge for action to happen. Gutted for the lad I really am.

I know  of a "couple" who have had this happen as well. Punch promise the earth but never deliver. Phone calls are never returned and "mobiles" always on answerphone. Left to sink or swim, usually to sink like a stone :(.

Most of Punches leased estate is up for sale and  not necessarily as a going concern. They are selling off their assets. The CEO of their leased estate did much the same with a well known "off licence chain" a few  years ago. He left to join Punch. The "Offy" went into Administration at the end of October last year. Watch this space although I hope I am wrong.

We are going to end up with a load of "plastic" pubs with no character or well known "mine host" and very little choice of venue.

Rediculous high rents, low discounts and little or usually no support, coupled with no chance of competing with the big supermarket chains. No chance.  Z** :rage:

Errr... please don't think for one minute that the odd suicide will make any corporate business change direction... it simply means you are DEAD.
They will make a glib statement, a wreath at the funeral, nothing more.

No ... much easier to file for bankruptcy,   stick 2 fingers up to them ... and start again!
