Nice photos of the Remembrance Parade, DaveR, and the last one shows what a good turn out there was at the Cenotaph - it's a shame that the PA system wasn't as good.  I was standing on the seaward side of the Cenotaph and with the wind blowing nobody there could hear what was being said.  We could hear that Revd Bob Griffiths was speaking (and he's got quite a powerful voice) but couldn't make out his words.  It was much better last year, when I was in a similar place, so presumably the wind was stronger or in a different direction this year.

Yes you are right Blodyn unless you were right opposite, the pa system was rubbish.  It's not the wind as the same problem happened last year  They need a better system.  By the way should he have kept his hat on in church and when he was reading the lesson?  Is it some mayoral prerogative?

Was there difficulty in hearing the 2 min silence?  :)

We were on the platform of the Festiniog Railway in Porthmadog waiting to go on the Welsh Highland Railway to Beddgelert. They had the 2 min silence there on the platform and delayed the train by 10 mins which I thought was very good to see!

As there was no maroon, but only a drum beat alot of people kept on talking, not knowing that the silence had begun.
Couldn't hear either !

Any shopkeeper who wants to, is now allowed to display large advertisments that distract motorists, exactly where they please.

Or so it seems providing you are blocking one of the main streets with a "fair" selling overpriced products - that is after paying £1 to walk into the tented "shop".

It does absolutely nothing for any local shop selling the same or similar products.   If we must have it put the whole shebang on Bodafon fields out of the way.

Hey hang on a mo, what about the poor b----s like myself standing selling Christmas Cards for the kiddies Hospice. It was bad enough last year standing in a wood hut in the perishing cold with no heat and proper light (it's not allowed) let alone standing in a load of mud.

Some filming going on on Old Road this morning with a fair sized crew.

Personally I've never seen the actor being filmed before. Any ideas ?

He looks a bit of all right to me but I agree better without the sideburns!
Maybe he would like to borrow something from my umbrella collection?

I think this must be the programme they are making. It says he is going to help preserve the pier!

Who?

If he single handedly - yeah right - is going to save the pier why was he up the Orme on the tram track?
