I got a visit on Thursday evening, they were definitely hungry, even fighting over some of my shrubs, I moved them on, but I am always wary, those are intimidating horns.  ???

Very surprised to see large areas of The Oval flooded this morning, worst I have seen, since being here.

This link won't comfort you Steve and I take it that you weren't there in 1993.     If those drains in the western part of the town are not cleared of sand on a regular basis then there could be bigger problems in the future.
Just because the drains are out of sight CCBC should still be aware of any problems pending

I fortunately missed the 93 events, and have to say I do see the gullies being cleaned quite often, so fingers crossed.

PS just heard llanrwst in big trouble, the small stream in town is full to bursting, this caused havoc a few years, the river is highest level since 2015

I wish I could say the same! All over town, I see blocked road drains, sadly.

I noticed the goats all over Gloddaeth Ave. last night, they even bedded down on the central reservation about 11pm, later I saw them running towards West shore, never seen them move so fast, then I saw the large dog off the lead, who was encouraging them along, the owner a little distance away............

GOATS intruding into Llandudno have proved to be a problem for Ysgol San Sior.

There has been a recent influx of goats from the herd living on the Great Orme into the town because of bad weather.
Goat incursions have also been a continuing problem for Ysgol San Sior which lies at the foot of the Great Orme.

Ian Jones, headmaster, said: “The goats have wrecked havoc. They’ve destroyed 150 saplings we planted last Autumn, and the worry is that if they continue to gain access to the school field they will repeat the damage they did last year.

"Then they eat all the blossom on our apple trees which meant we had no apples to make our chutney

“Another problem is that goat poo gets walked into the school.”
He added: “It is important to say we like the goats. But the problem is overpopulation, that’s the issue.
"Goats are great for our town, they encourage biodiversity on the Orme.”

I think it was last year when I first saw the goats wandering about the area where I live, it was nice to see them close up, but then their visits increased, now this year they are spending most evenings around the Gloddaeth/Oval area, with the resulting damage and mess,  in my opinion something needs done, someone needs to accept responsibility for these animals, before it gets out of hand, this herd will only get bigger, and the youngsters will accept the easier pickings in town, as the norm, they need to be returned and cared for on the Orme, ie supplementary feeding as an incentive.

The article below, is treating the situation lightheartedly,...............  "cheeky visitors" ...... " helped themselves to shrubbery" ......."even visited a local primary school" ........  " mischief about town, holding up traffic, playing in the streets and raiding gardens for snacks."......... "no qualms about holding up traffic as they enjoy a stroll around town"............  "embraced their celebrity status and seem happy to be photographed" ....................  "But on the whole., they seem to be having a wonderful time in Llandudno"

Llandudno's Great Orme goats have been on another cheeky adventure - here's what they got up to

They've stopped traffic, got involved in fights and have even been spotted on the school run this time around!

It's been a few weeks  :o  since the herd of Great Orme goats last invaded Llandudno.

But it seems our little friends have returned and have been spotted wandering the streets of the town.

The Great Orme goats - a breed known as Kashmiri goats - normally live up in the hills of the headland.

But following their well publicised excursion down to the tourist hot spot back in March, it seems the furry rogues had that much fun they've come back for another adventure.

This time around the cheeky visitors were seen exploring the local area.

They also helped themselves to shrubbery and even visited a local primary school.

As much as I like the goats, I live in fear of them causing some kind of awful accident, cars and bikes seem to use Gloddaeth Avenue, Abbey Road and the surrounding areas as a race track and the goats in the streets aren't easily visible due to the recent change in the type of street lights. The volume of droppings has been vast recently and are very slippery after rain so the surfaces are nasty to say the least. Thus if you are driving at night, drive carefully and keep your eyes peeled ! *cycle*

Well I for one don't think it's amusing or funny, they are causing damage to property, conwy council would be the first to bring the land owner to task for compensation .but low and behold I think they have a lease from Mostyn estates for the Gt Orme .does that make them liable?  When Mostyn estates ran the Orme some culling took place along with fox control. Politically I can't see this happening, perhaps they could relocate some what ever the solution they are starving at present

A few weeks ago I made the mistake of driving down Abbey Road when the school had just finished and found myself facing a convoy of mainly women drivers picking up their children from school and driving Chelsea tractors.
I had to pull in many times to let them go past and there was no hint of a thank you from any of them, that was until I let a gentleman go past in an immaculate white Morris Minor and he thanked me for my gesture which I appreciated.      $good$
It's a shame that the other drivers weren't as considerate, so I'll keep away from there at that time of the day

AN immaculate motor with a considerate driver seems to be getting rarer on the roads nowadays, mores the pity.

An English firm has been offering tourists the chance to shoot goats in the Welsh mountains for up to £1,000 a kill.

Owen Beardsmore, who owns a “global hunting and shooting agency”, specialises in tailor-made hunting trips.

He is offering people the chance to shoot for rates of between £400 and £1,000 per Billy goat.

The tours have been described as a “blood sport” by animal rights groups and politicians who accused those going on the hunts as having a “sickening lust for blood”.

When contacted by the Daily Post Mr Beardsmore - who runs hunt agency Cervus-UK - said he was not doing anything illegal,

It's an option bring in some revenue for a cash strapped council

What about a offering people the chance to shoot for rates of between £400 and £1,000 with Owen Beardsmore being the target.
I'm sure that there would be no shortage of people wanting to participate in it
