A big thank you to who ever put on the 7.30pm fire work display on top of the Great Orme last night, there was a warning on social media about the display for pet owners, and it was timed for the youngsters, and considering it was privately funded, an excellent display and very entertaining.
 &well&                     $good$

Yes Steve, it was top notch.
It was held on Mike’s old golf course, and was funded by locals.
Social media comments today were hilarious,  full of mealy mouthed comments about possibly frightening anyone who had served in Afghanistan, had PTSD or nervous cats.
They didn’t know of such a case, they were just moaning in case there were any.
The world is becoming a very sterile place.

We thought it was amazing and so good that it was at a suitable time for kids. We don't have a dog at the moment , it didn't bother the tortoise, ?{}? but can understand people who's dogs were frightened. We used to turn up the TV or radio for her and give her a hug until it was over, she was petrified, but soon settled. The last dog couldn't have cared less. We were fortunate with him.  From two pensioners, we enjoyed it. Thank you.

I wish that I could have seen that firework display as it seems really good and full marks to the organisers  as it looks like a lot of their time and money has gone into that display.
It's really nice when people make such an effort for the benefit of others
Fester is spot on with his comments about the world is becoming a very sterile place.     It's so sad when inane comments are made like that, why don't these sad and unhappy people do something more positive with their time?     They could do some constructive voluntary work or even get a job to occupy the time that they seem to be able to waste on making stupid comments online

Drama in skies above North Wales as Boeing jet forced to make dramatic U-turn and fly low over coast
The Air Tahiti Nui plane was en route from Paris to Los Angeles when it was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Manchester Airport

About 45 minutes into the flight, while over Sheffield, the Dreamliner abruptly turned to the west and headed out over the Irish Sea.

It then issued a 7700 squawk code, alerting local air traffic control facilities to some kind of onboard emergency.

After performing a 180-degree turn, the aircraft flew past Llandudno and followed the North Wales coast, passing over Talacre, Flintshire, as it headed to Manchester Airport.

Re: Llandudno .......Gift fair date change
« Reply #8628 on: January 13, 2022, 01:20:32 pm »
A NEW annual trade show in Llandudno has been postponed by a month due to current Welsh Government COVID-19 restrictions.

The Llandudno Gift Fair will now be held at the four-star St George’s Hotel in Llandudno from February 13-15, and will be open for traders to visit between 9am-5.30pm (9am-4pm on Feb 15).

Initially, it was set to take place from January 16-18, but a maximum of 30 people being allowed to attend indoor events in Wales has caused the rescheduling.

A statement on Llandudno Gift Fair’s website read: “Due to the current Welsh Government COVID-19 restrictions limiting the number of people attending indoor events to a maximum of 30 people, we have taken the decision to revise the dates of the show from the original dates in January to new dates in February.

“We are hopeful that this slight rescheduling of the show will allow enough time for the Welsh Government to ease the current restrictions, allowing the show to continue as planned.”

Welsh Government reviewing Outline Business Case for Llandudno North and West Shore

THE MS for Aberconwy, Janet Finch-Saunders, has secured assurances from the Welsh Government that the Llandudno Flood Alleviation Scheme Outline Business Case (OBC) for works at North Shore and West Shore are being reviewed.

Responding to a letter sent by the MS, the Welsh Government Minister for climate change, Julie James, stated: “I can confirm that the OBC has identified the local authority’s preferred option.

“Officials are reviewing the OBC, and a decision will be made in due course as to whether the scheme should progress to detailed design.”

Llandudno rugby coaches on poo patrol warn new fence will keep 'lazy' dog owners off pitch
The club has raised health and safety concerns about players having to dodge faeces and litter during matches

Now officials have said enough is enough and are appealing for people to clear up their dog's mess by using the nearby bins that are already provided.

If the problem persists, the club may be forced to build a fence they already have planning permission for to keep "lazy dog owners" away.

CONWY County Borough Council have announced that work will start on phase two of Llandudno’s Mostyn Street repaving programme later this month.

The second phase will focus on improving pavements on the west side of Mostyn Street, between Gloddaeth Street and Lloyd Street.

Upgrades will include replacing kerbs and pavements, using heritage-style paving slabs up to the shop boundaries.

Harry Saville, Mayor of Llandudno and Councillor for the Gogarth Ward, said: “It is great to see money being spent improving Llandudno and whilst there will still be much more of Mostyn Street to do, this is a big improvement for our high street.

Fighting goats stopped the traffic at a Llandudno supermarket as furious drivers beeped their horns in a vain attempt to get the animals to move.

A herd of around a dozen animals watched as two angry bucks locked horns at the traffic lights at Asda on Monday, stopping cars entering the shop from Conway Road or leaving the supermarket.

Despite drivers beeping their horns, the Great Orme goats were too busy scrapping or watching the fight to move.

"People were beeping their horns because they couldn't get in or out of Asda. In the end, people just drove around them. You don't expect to see that when you go to pick up your shopping!"

As I was driving down Abbey Road from the West Shore the other day a line of Goats crossed over the road near the school and went down the public footpath into Gladdaeth Avenue.
They were possibly on their way to Asda or just escaping from the sand storm that was blowing down Abbey Road

I thought the same afterwards, in fact it took awhile to remember that the B&H site had been built on already, but the heading reads

"Planning applications registered by Conwy County Borough Council up to February 6 "
