Welsh Assembly was approved by 0.6% in that referendum.  What's sauce for the goose......

So we have got funding for Llandudno prom, um Mostyn estates own the prom, if it's for the new shelters the council had funding for them years ago, but it's gone missing.

Indeed, as May discovered that still causes some issues. Knife-edge majorities are perhaps acceptable for local elections, but for major change I suspect they need to have a sizeable majority. Taking a major decision on a tight margin leaves the result open to a great deal of scepticism.

Who are the Mostyn family and why do they own so much of Llandudno
The aristocratic clan have 500 years of history with the resort they did so much to shape and they still retain a significant cultural and financial influence

A glance at the accounts of Mostyn Estates shows a significant reduction in the value of assets this last couple of years.
Together with something like a 90% drop in the value of cash at bank.

I'm absolutely gutted for the poor estate.    No wonder they couldn't afford to pay for improving the pavements that they own or contribute towards the Victorian shelters and lamp posts that they promised to contribute to.                   &shake&

Why a massive film crew is in Llandudno - and it's nothing to do with I'm A Celebrity
A fleet of trucks and trailers have taken over a car park and scenes have been shot in Rhos-on-Sea today for what's believed to be a documentary on a notorious figure

Why here? The subject of this was a volunteer at Leeds infirmary where my Dad was for 13 weeks. Met him a few times. Made my skin crawl !

I wanted to post a short clip of the fireworks, taken from the Pier, but the Forum doesn’t seem to accept videos.
So, instead, here are some pics of how busy the promenade area was earlier...

THOUSANDS of people descended on Llandudno to watch a dazzling firework display.

The display was held on Sunday, November 7 at Llandudno North Shore beach. It was labelled 'absolutely fabulous', 'fantastic', 'brilliant' and a 'must see' by many families and individuals.

Cllr Carol Marubbi, chairman of Llandudno Town Council’s Fireworks Sub-Committee, said: "On behalf of the town council, I would like to thank the town council staff, councillors and volunteers, the events and the ERF teams at Conwy County Borough Council and all involved in putting on such a fantastic display.

"Particular thanks go to Adam Williams of Tir Prince and his amazing team for all their support of this event and also Ignite Pyrotechnics who put on such a fabulous show

"Without all the stakeholders working together, this event would not have been able to take place.

"We are delighted to have been able to put on this popular Fireworks Spectacular enjoyed by local residents and visitors from far and wide”.

Llandudno Town Council has organised the display since its inception back in 1976.

Last year the annual spectacular was cancelled due to Covid-19; the pandemic brought with it many "insurmountable logistical and financial problems" and as a result, the council took the decision to cancel the display.

The Bay of Colwyn Town Council, with support from Colwyn Bay Fire Station and Conwy County Borough Council, held its bonfire and fireworks event in Eirias Park on Friday, November 5.

The new Ice Cream Kiosk on the prom looks great. Not sure about some of the people hanging around it though...
