Yes Bri, we need to report things more often.    It may be that the authorities don't know about certain problems so we need to bring it to their attention.       $good$

Just like I did Hugo, about the state of the North Shore Beach and still nothing has been done.  $angry$

Yes...I saw that yesterday.  Apparently, the female driver was still behind the wheel.

Parkour runners filmed on Great Orme ahead of new Snowdonia event
Participants will compete with each other in various challenges at different locations in North Wales.

Parkour runners have been filmed in Llandudno ahead of a new games event set to take place in Snowdonia.

The runners were filmed jumping from various parts of a walkway on the Great Orme as preparation for the three-day event.
The Aphetor Games is a new event that pits social media creators against each other.

The content creators will compete with each other in various challenges across different venues in Snowdonia, including Zip World in Penrhyn Quarry.

Covid-safe challenges overseen by independent health and safety experts include gravity kart racing, obstacle courses and a bar-hanging challenge above a reservoir.

I'm very surprised at that Steve, after all that shouldn't be necessary now, after C.C.B.C. spent millions of pounds of rate payers money, putting over a hundred thousand tons of quarry waist onto the North Shore, to prevent flooding from happening and managing to destroy the beach in the process. Or am I becoming cynical in my old age?

Yes Blongb this bunch of clowns said them rocks were dumped there as a defence so as you say why do the require the gates 🤔 I worked on the pier early 70s the tides are no bigger now than what they were then, only the steps were the defence then.

If the low pressure area is severe enough, the tide height can be increased substantially. Not saying it will be, but it could be.

My wife came up with the answer to the problem of Llandudno flooding from increased sea levels at a meeting with our EU MP years ago. There was a 2 billion euro grant available for one project in North Wales and did anyone have a suggestion as to what it could be spent on. So being a local girl and business owner she suggested raising the promenade up by 2 meters, installing a thicker seawall and putting 2 layers of car parking down the full length from the Pier to the Little Orme. She even suggested that we could put public conveniences in every 100 meters or so. Nothing else was put forward and the grant money was never used. And instead we got 120,000 tons of quarry waist, paid for out of our rates, lost our beach and are still liable to flooding.

(What do you call 100 county councillors chained together at the bottom of Llandudno Bay?...........A very good start.)

Re: Llandudno ...............Christmas parade XXX

It's beginning to sink in that Xmas will be different this year..............

THIS year's Llandudno Christmas parade has been cancelled.                                                                      ref Pioneer

Llandudno Town Council has reluctantly taken the decision to cancel this year’s event.
The parade was earmarked for December 5.

Cllr Antony Bertola, chairman of the Christmas Parade Sub Committee, said: “During the last six months we have all felt the impact of Covid 19 and how it has affected all our lifestyles and routines. We have all had to re-adjust our way of living, working and socialising. Llandudno Town Council is no exception.

"We have proudly organized the annual Christmas parade over many successful years with great enthusiasm from the town council and indeed from the public to the acts involved who provide all the professional entertainment.
"We have always received great feedback from residents and indeed the tourists who visit our town.

"Sadly, this year with so many insurmountable health and safety issues and regulations the council has decided to cancel this year’s parade.

"Let’s hope this virus is beaten soon and we can all come together once again to enjoy community events.
Work will begin 'as soon as possible' to see if the parade can be organised for 2021.
