Good to hear Steve. It's about time more social housing was built for the over 60's freeing up larger properties for families and on brownfield sites instead of Greenfields ;D

“FAST”,  Sorry couldn’t resist it.  Great success by all accounts, apart from an accident by two motorcycles during a display.    :'(

The rider who was seriously injured was 7 years old.

Walking into town today I passed The Queen of Hearts, wooden statue on Gloddaeth St, and noticed the concrete base is concaved and holding water, and although the statue is a large sculpture, the rot has set in, and will only speed up if left unattended, not sure if others are affected.

Talking with some people off a coach visiting Bodnant Garden the other day and they were all full of praise for Llandudno - lovely place, nice and clean, wonderful promenade ... and were really praising the hotel they were all staying at ... the Brig-y-Don.  The party were all from the Cornwall and Devon area, and really enjoing "our" patch.

Nice to hear such positive comments.

Nice to hear such positive comments because it just to drives home how lucky we are to live in an extraordinarily stunning place.

now if we could just have some things that visitors, we are told here, want to come to ................................

we might just ruin the place!

Saturday's firework display postponed until Sunday.

We heard the test firing last night, shortly after the Gritter truck passed, and thought there had been an accident !..... bit more info from the Pioneer.

LLANDUDNO's fireworks display has been postponed until Sunday due to the bad weather.
The display was due to be held tonight at the town's North Shore. It will now take place tomorrow (Sunday) at 7pm.

Concerns were raised by the town council’s fireworks sub-committee last night about the wind forecast. Two shots were fired between 9.10pm and 10pm to test conditions.

Llandudno Fireworks Display posted on Facebook: "Sadly the wind speed and direction tomorrow means we can not put on the display safely.
"Fireworks postponed until Sunday at 7pm."

Excellent display, weather spot on, pity it had to be postponed, I believe quite a few visitors had to leave, after booking hotels for last nights show.

I can't believe the traffic on Gloddaeth ave, solid from the prom, to Westshore, and has been like that for over an hour, just clearing now, even the back streets, busy with people trying shortcuts.

The Pioneer story, confirming my impressions.

LLANDUDNO's fireworks display went off with a bang!
Thousands packed into the town to watch the spectacular display at the North Shore which had been postponed to Sunday (October 28) due to wind speed and safety reasons.

Crowds labelled the multicoloured and breathtaking display as "truly amazing" and "fantastic".
Families turned out in their droves and little ones showcased colourful lightsabers and sparklers.

Ryan Lloyd, who travelled from Glan Conwy to see the celebrations, said: "It was a well attended fireworks display. A lot better than previous years.
"I will definitely be back next year."

Another visitor, who asked not be named, said: "The town was bedlam.
"Unfortunately my family never got out the car as we couldn't park, but we drove through the prom and they looked impressive.
"A little close but - from what we saw - they looked really good."

The Pioneer quoting more than 17,000 turn out for fireworks spectacular in Llandudno.

Maybe we should leave it to the professionals.

THERE was plenty of sparkle on Bonfire Night but some fireworks ended up in the wrong place.
A small fire, caused accidentally, was sparked on Llandudno Great Orme. This was caused by a firework. The fire was out on arrival and firefighters inspected the scene.

At an address in Llandudno, at 7.47pm, there was one square metre of fire damage after a firework landed on a roof. Two crews from Llandudno attended.

A small hedge fire broke out at an address on Sylva Road. 150 square metres of hedge were affected. One crew attended. The cause is unknown.

We saw a four car shunt on the Prom at the crossing by Dylans yesterday lunchtime. The car in front had obviously braked hard and the three cars behind him went straight in the back of each other. Were they too close or travelling too fast?
