I think it's a great hotel to stay at when you have an early flight, especially as you can pop out to book-in for the flight to get rid of your cases and go back to the room to relax before you actually fly. They used to do a great deal where you stayed the night, left with a good breakfast to start the day's travelling and they looked after your car for two weeks.

I agree with you SDQ. Worth every penny for the location alone. Great to be able to walk to the terminal without going outside and no stress worrying about the possible traffic jams on the M56 in the rush hour.
They still do the parking packages.

Each February I make a couple of visits to Wadenhoe House in Northamptonshire for business meetings.  Here's the view from my room and a couple of views of the house itself.  There was snow when I made the first trip this year and this week the weather was dull until after I'd taken my photos - when the sun came out beautifully but I didn't have time to re-do the pictures.

Blimey, lucky you!
In my working days we were sent to grotty hotels in Stockport for conferences. That looks a whole lot better!

When I worked for a certain German Company we held our Conferences at the 5 Europe Hotel on the side of Killarney Lakes in Ireland.   A fantastic place with lots of scenery, golf , horseriding, fishing, spa etc. etc.   Closed at the moment for second phase of bedroom refurbishment (reopening April) but still worth a look!

Just as an afterthought - it was owned by the parent company!   $good$

Yorkie, that looks very posh!

Hollins, yes I am very lucky to get sent to such a nice place for work.  Here's a picture of my room.

Blodyn, I was hoping you would put a photo of the inside. It looks fabulous.

I have been staying in a converted barn in the Peak District for a few days.
This was the view from my bedroom window yesterday morning and one of the inside.

Hollins, your converted barn looks very interesting!  I do like the Peak District and used to walk there quite a lot.

I've been away with work again, including a night at the pleasant Old Bridge Hotel at Huntingdon.  This is the view from my window, overlooking the Great Ouse.  I didn't get a photo of the place itself and was surprised that there wasn't one on the hotel website, so I've linked to the private dining room page, as that was the part we used.

Here too is a picture of my room - including some rather odd looking cushions!

Nice to see your contributions back on the forum Blodyn.
Love the baby goats and the violets.
I can't see the odd cushions on the photo above!
