I dont often use the search facility, but today I did. I put in     Colwyn Bay waterfront.       We think you may have meant   Clown Bay waterfront.      Have the searchers been nosing around CBC?

Ha ha...    I always imagine CCBC council meetings being attended by men in orange spikey wigs, huge shoes, over-sized chequered suits and sporting whizzing dickie-bow ties.

I also imagine that a CCBC councillors car would have a squeaky horn (toot toot), and doors that explode and fall off.  +}}{--

My fellow Admin, Ian, raised an important point a little while ago. Following a recent court case, the issue has come to light of liability regarding private messages, whether it be text messages on a phone or private messages on a Forum such as this. Although Ian and myself, as Admins, cannot see the contents of PMs, we remain liable for their content. Responsibility without any means of control is obviously not acceptable, so we have taken the step of disabling the PM system as of now.

Anyone wishing to contact Admin can just email admin@threetownsforum.co.uk or post in here if it is not a confidential matter.

Can you please post a link to this court case?

What was the outcome?

Also, why have the other 3 Forums I am a member of (including ADVFN.com which is worldwide) not taken this step?

Fester:

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/08/03/text_talk_legal_status/

This only came to light on August 3rd, but it's part of a gradual tightening by legislators around the world of regulations with regard to social media.  Although this judgement concerns itself specifically with Obscenity, it's becoming clear to forum managers everywhere that things are going to have to change, as the law will almost certainly be used for other things.  Unfortunately, Dave and I would be in the firing line.
