You are not alone. Virtually everyone aged between say 12 and 60 who lives around here and was born locally were born there

Everyone east of Penrhyn Bay that is.

St David's, Bangor was another major maternity hospital.

I myself was born in the Oxford Road hospital in Llandudno.

Cheers,

Derek.

The house of the late Gordon Lorenz in Craigside has just gone on the market:

Mr Lorenz's lounge looks remarkably like the interior of The Albion Pub in Conwy.  :)   Z**

Sort of property related...Colin Flannigan of St David's Commercial Estate Agents ran a little competition on Twitter yesterday as part of the Olympic Torch excitement, he offered to donate £50 to Hope House/Ty Gobaith Childrens Hospice if anyone could guess the number of properties on the St Davids books that the Torchbearer would pass as they ran through central Colwyn Bay.

I (naturally enough) tried to fiddle it slightly by looking at his website, but in the end, settled for a guess of 8. Oddly enough, it turned out to be the correct answer and Colin will be sending the cheque for £50 to Sarah Kearsley-Wooller this morning.

Thank you, Colin, very kind of you.

Whilst in Beaumaris today, I took a look at this property, its the derelict old Aquarium, situated on the banks of the Menai Straits with spectacular views across to Snowdonia (and Llandudno the other way). With a large outside terrace area, I'm amazed it hasn't been snapped up for use as a cafe/restaurant:

This old church  looks interesting; sad to see the change of use but with a decent architect and builder could be made into a lovely home
Up for auction in November

Bryan Davies & Associates sold it at auction in the Imperial Hotel a couple of years ago along with the house behind it in Mostyn Avenue.

I only know because I went along.

I notice it has now got planning consent to convert it into a private residence.

I am surprised to see it described on Rightmove as a two bedroom terraced house.  :o

Interesting Bri R; also for sale is this annex
Here
Looking at the Street View in  this advert can be seen the house and annex were being renovated at the same time, both have new window stickers
Still not rated for council tax

Would it have been Church;  Presbytery; and Vicarage ?

If I had enough £££ we would love to own the annex

I viewed that property before it went to Auction, the attached house was in a shocking state but the Chapel was fairly sound. It looks a touch overpriced to me, I would suggest £80k as a fair guide price.

It now looks as if the attached house at the rear of the chapel may now be two houses.

I see that the Cotton Traders building in Mostyn St recently sold at Auction for just £365,000, lower than the Guide Price of£380,000 - £400,000, even though Cotton Traders are paying £50k per annum rent. Interesting how commercial property prices along Mostyn St seem to have fallen quite sharply in recent years.

The Imperial Hotel building in Colwyn Bay is back up for sale - £495k. Not a bad price for such a large property, especially with an income of £28k from the bits that are still let.

A 4 bedroom detached house in Craigside for just £199k? Ideal fixer upper opportunity.
