The Lighthouse at Point Lynas has come on the market again.   It was featured on a Welsh TV programme a few years ago and shortly afterwards while on a walk in the area I spoke to the owner of the property.   It was his wife's dream home as a child and they were lucky to be able to buy it when it last came on the market.
It's unique and set in a beautiful location and is one of the best places in the UK to see Dolphins and Porpoise

The 'iconic' former fisherman's cottage is valued at £2.2 million - and it's in a wonderful location

When small wooden beach huts without electricity and water are sold for £200K then anything is possible.   It's a mad mad world     &shake&

Urban explorer gives a glimpse into the abandoned 'Anniversary House' left frozen in time
The house near Llanrwst has been left fully furnished and lost to time

An urban explorer has taken a look inside a long-forgotten home. The property has become known as "Anniversary House" among the explorer community and is tucked away down a remote pathway about five minutes from Llanrwst in Conwy.

The luxurious designer 'super home' tucked away in a Llandudno hillside that's on sale for ?1,700,000
Built in 2016, the designer house is one of the most opulent properties currently on sale in North Wale

This must be the property that had numerous trees chopped down to open up the view

Luxurious former coach house on Little Orme for sale - and it has a walk-in dressing room and hot tub
The master bedroom of the ?1,795,000 property even has its own wing which is accessed by a private staircase

It's handy if you want to go to the Premier Inn next door but the asking price last time it came on the market a few years ago was  below 1 million pounds

Luxury 'Millionaire's Row' property on Llandudno's Great Orme on sale for ?2,500,000
The luxurious cliffside property also has stunning sea views

I remember the old Abbey Lodge getting demolished and a new one build in it's place and if I remember correctly it wasn't that long ago and the asking price then was about ?1.2 million.    Nice profit for someone!
I've also just remembered that the old building the Abbey Lodge was previously  mentioned on here under Research as a forum members relation once lived in the ols lodge

My Mother was born in Abbey Lodge her Grandparents lived there. What stunning views but what an abomination of a house has been built instead, absolutely soulless

I've just found your posting in Genealogy and Research Meleri and it's under the heading of The Lodge, Gogarth Abbey Llandudno.     Unfortunately on my laptop I can't see any of the photos that were posted at the time which is a shame as I seem to remember some interesting photos there
It's now a big house and soulless as you say.   That lounge doesn't seem to fit the ?2.5 million price tag

It is totally out of keeping with the surrounding area. I knew the former Abbey Lodge and it was part of the same type of build as The Old Abbey. That monstrosity must dominate the area and overwhelm the remains of the old Gogarth Abbey. I am surprised they were allowed planning permission. Wouldn't the body that protects ancient monuments object?

Helig,   Llys Helig Drive has changed quite a bit over the last 10 years or so and old houses have been pulled down and replaced with ultra modern properties.
Money talks nowadays and properties are being built that don't fit in with the surroundings, take Anwyl's last plan for Penmorfa for instance
There is a restriction on land near the site of the old Bishop's Palace but I don't know if this building has or has not broken that restriction

Thank you for that information, Hugo. I confess I haven't been along Llys Helig Drive for some years now. It is a shame that they have been messing about with the houses down there. They gave it a lovely appearance as they had such individual styles. It sounds similar to Sandbanks in Dorset where the old style bungalows built in the 1930s or thereabouts, have been pulled down and the over sized modern monstrosities erected in their place.

Has the bungalow where Mr and Mrs Gow lived survived? That was the first one after the Old Abbey.
