Shame it's not actually going to be used! Great restoration job, though.

You can find real time train information for any station or particular signal box on this website. It also shows freight train movements:

Had a journey on this a few days ago. A brand new Swiss train. Looks a real mean machine doesn't it?

A couple of weeks ago we had a nice day in Llangollen and a trip on the train. Was glad my Brother in Law told us to sit on the platform side of the train going up - not impressed with the toilet facilities when we got up to Carrog - just one ladies and one gents and a full train.
Has anybody had lunch at the Chainbridge Hotel? Have looked on Trip Advisor but varied revues.

Had a couple of days away in Leeds and York, places we have been many times.

This time however, we decided to drop into the National Railways Museum,  although I have never been that interested in trains.

Well, I AM NOW!  Because the museum is fantastic and was way above my expectations.
I never knew that such original exhibits as The Mallard are on display there.

We had other things to do, but I didn't want to leave the museum, and I am already planning to return very soon.

Plus... it's FREE!

It's a superb venue.  We spent two days there during the July heatwave last year.  Must put some photos up...

Have a look at this website - all 6 Streaks will be at Shildon in February.   (County Durham)

A lot of skill there! Looks like the Cambrian Coast Railway will be closed for a few months!

We are back from a trip to Palma, Mallorca. One day we travelled from there to Soller on a lovely old train and then the tram from Soller to Puerto Soller. There is some wonderful mountainous scenery along the way and many old olive trees and orchards.

Oh no! I hope it didn't put you off for life. The flights are probably a lot cheaper now than in the eighties.
Anyway, I'm glad you have experienced it for yourselves.
