Barcelona

Seeing Yorkie’s photos of Barcelona inspired me to post a few of mine.
I love this city and it is so accessible even for a day trip.
Easyjet has two return flights a day from Liverpool leaving at 07.00  on one and returning at 23.00 on the other.
Barcelona airport is close to the city centre and there is a bus which picks up outside all the terminals and drops off at El Corte Ingles (department store) on Placa Catalunya.
If you book in advance you can pay as little as £40 but I just checked as an example for 12 October and it was about £55 return.
Barcelona is great for shopping and for fans of Gaudi.

I didn't much like Barcelona,  on the three occasions I have visited it.

Row upon row of supposedly 'authentic' tapas bars,  which served over-priced microwaved fodder for tourists.

Streets full of tormented caged animals for sale,  and in poor condition.

Gaudi's Cathedral was impressive in many ways,  but so damned ugly in many others.
