My OH bought me a pyrography set for crimbo and Ive taken to it quite well since ive figured I can stamp or trace then burn in.  Considering I have about 2000 stamps at my disposal im having a whale of a time :)
Now where local would sell suitable wood,  pref birch plywood or sycamore.  Looking for plaques, coasters etc.

I know we can buy just wood and OH would cut it for me... eventually but looking really for nearest shop that sells that kinda stuff?

Don't think that I can think of anywhere local, but would this be any help?

Thanks Nem, got reasonable priced supplier on ebay, that site worth a look tho thanks.  The plaque outside our house is unreadable so id like to do that but need big slices of wood which cost mega bucks to post.

Minime,  why not visit one of the local timber suppliers and ask?   Even though they may not stock what you want they can probably point you in the right direction!

There is a timber importer in Liverpool that was owned by a family friend who is an importer of specialist woods.  They may have a local dealer.  The name was Hunter Fowler and Co Ltd as far as I remember.  H F is correct even if I have the full names slightly wrong.

I have just discovered rather belatedly that what I saw in Peel recently was called "yarn bombing."

"Yarn bombing, yarnbombing, yarn storming, guerrilla knitting, kniffiti, urban knitting or graffiti knitting is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk."

There are some amazing pics on this link,

Maybe we should creep up in the night and cheer up the skip?
