The hotels are now starting to prepare for reopening. Seems as though food will be restricted to room service only in some. Anxious times.

In Wales it appears that no one can re-open their dining room. There has been no official notice for when the hospitality trade can resume business, of any sort.

The problem will be, I suspect, that Johnson's relaxation of the rules in England will serve to put pressure on the Welsh tourist industry. Drakeford has stated that, "dependent on a review, tourism businesses will then be able to take commercial bookings from Monday 13 July.

That will allow people to stay in 'self-contained' accommodation such as cottages, static caravans, and hotels where social distancing can be kept."

Indeed. The larger hotels, who already offer room service, might be able to adapt but it's going to be difficult for the smaller ones.

Having had experience of people eating in rooms, not much fun for the staff clearing up either. Many smaller places will find it awkward to fit a table and chairs in their rooms, but the idea of full breakfast balanced on knees, or eaten on beds is or could be a horror story.

Holiday giant that operated two Llandudno hotels had staggering debts when it went into administration
Shearings Hotels owed more than £200m when it was placed in the hands of administrators.

The Specialist Leisure Group - which owned Shearings Holidays, National Holidays, UK Breaks, Shearings Hotels and Wallace Arnold Travel - collapsed this May.

Under Shearings Hotels they operated the Bay County and Bay Marine hotels in Llandudno - and it announced they would not reopen after lockdown when the administrators were called in.

I thought Mostyn Estates had had enough of St. Georges Place, after the £3,000,000 (estimated) loss they made on the refurbishment of the Embassy Building.  ))*

More Good news........

Sale of bust coach giant's brand to tour operator in boost for Llandudno hotels
National Holidays brought thousands of visitors to the resort every year before its collapse.

The Shearings brand has already been bought and will relaunch trips to the County and Marine hotels in Llandudno and now the JG Travel Group has taken on National Holidays brand.

They said they aimed to replicate tours run by National Holidays and in a positive sign have used Llandudno as the background on their new launch page.
