I'm pleased to hear it.  As a lad and well into my twenties I always had a fish pond and used to keep goldfish.  I was also a keen freshwater angler and would bring the odd small specimen home and pop it in with the goldfish.  Most survived their change from river or lake to a small pond but soon outgrew that environment and had to be returned to their natural waters.  I often wondered what sort of tale it would tell its friends about spending its time with such handsome and colourful relations.

This whole episode was unfortunate-- the large tank was built into a chimney breast and had been there for ever, long before we moved in. Fish had come and gone within it, but looking at it we said that if anything unfortunate happened we wouldn't replace either fish or tank. Sat night at about 11pm my OH noticed that the water level had suddenly and dramatically dropped. Knowing the water volume was pretty large we daren't leave it overnight, so set to to remove two dustbins full and dispose of it. Hence the fact that poor Haddock ended up swimming round a stacker box-- a bucket was a bit too small for him !

Didn't Finny Haddock and her husband Johnny used to have a cooking programme on the television? There's a related joke about Doughnuts but it's unprintable.

Does anyone remember the jaw bone of a whale at the old entrance to the castle ? trying to find out the history of this & what happened to the jaw bones ! Did it decay / fall apart or was it just cleared away when the new entrance was built. Any info. appreciated .

My mum has lost a 3 colour gold knot earring today whilst walking from St. David's hospice along Abbey Road towards town and down Gloddaeth Lane onto Gloddaeth Avenue and back towards west shore to Gt.Ormes Road and back to the hospice. She immediately retraced her steps (twice) without any luck. Somebody must have picked it up, it is no good to anyone else. If you found/find it please let me know. Thank you

Hi just wondered if any one has had a similar issue a with property that I am facing at the moment. Survey has said property is in a high radon gas area and I don't know what should I do about it - and if it will affect re-sale later. Have been told if it should be tested and if action needed a sump fitted. However property has a concrete floor so am not sure if this is possible.
any help would be really appreciated

Rather involved subject, easiest if you read about it here:

http://www.radon.com/radon/radon_facts.html

Also other web sites about it.

Speak to the selling agent and ask them to seek a professional opinion from a local surveyor.

The selling agent will not want to lose a sale.

FYI, many properties between Colwyn Bay – Conwy are in such an area.

I had this problem whilst selling a bungalow in Tan y Berllan, Deganwy recently.  I was amazed as I didn't realise it was anythere but Cornwall.
