PENRHYNSIDE SILVER BAND

Penrhynside Silver Band at the North Wales Band Rally - Summer 1950, after taking first prize in the Marching contest, playing `Slaidburn` by Willliam Rimmer. Conductor - Richard Williams (Dick Pen - Cae). Photo taken at North Western, Llandudno. (These notes appear on the rear of the photograph).

The competition had taken place by the Cenotaph which lies at the opposite end of the town. The intention was that the band would catch the tram back to Penrhynside from outside `Woolies`. The band master was so proud his band`s acheivement that he marched them right through the town to the tram stop at the North Western Hotel.

The Saint Tudno Silver Band circa 1895.

The Saint Tudno Silver Band  was taken over the the Llandudno Urban District Council in 1910 and became known as the Llandudno Town Band.
