Conw(a)y Bridge
« on: February 23, 2021, 11:47:52 am »
Been going through old copies of Motoring News looking for something and came across this item.
Issue dated 18 December 1958.

Who knew there were plans for the "new" Conway/Conwy Bridge to be a dual carriageway ?

I was there.

As an eight year old, I walked over on my own from Tywyn.

I was there too Bri, but can't remember seeing much.

Interesting the snippet from DVT regarding the foundations for a second carriageway.  There must be a few forgotten far-sighted provisions made by engineers of old.  The foundations of the Gloddaeth Street car park (Orme side) were built to allow for a second storey to be added.
