And this is the merry band of ringers who managed to get up and ring Holy Trinity's bells at 08.12 this morning.

Sorry if we disturbed anyone's sleep!

A guest band of ringers from around the UK will be visiting Llandudno on Tuesday to ring a peal to mark the holding of the Olympic Games in London.
The ringing will start at approx. 9.45am and last for about 3 hours. The ringers are some of the best and so the quality of the ringing should be very good. I understand the method to be rung is Stedman Triples.

The peal attempt started on time at 9.45am and seems to be going well. It should be completed just before 12.45.
The method being rung IS Stedman triples.

The peal was successfully rung in 2 hrs 45mins. It was as said above, a peal to mark and celebrate the London Olympic Games.

I would just like to say that there are eight bells in Holy Trinity's tower and all eight were being rung this morning by eight 'human' ringers. I make this point because the Rector received an enquiry during the ringing asking if the bells had become 'stuck'. We can only assume the enquirer thought they were automated!!

He was quite amused actually.

I understand there is an electronic device at St Paul's in Craig y Don but have not heard it myself.

No neither have I, but we can hear the bells from Holy Trinity quite clearly here-- Lovely. I always enjoy the sound.
I miss the clock on St. Georges!

Following reaction to last week's peal which lasted 2hrs 45mins and was rung to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic Games, we have decided not to allow any further peals for the rest of this year, and probably allow only one per year in future for special occasions.

Quarter peals lasting approximately 45 mins. will possibly be rung from time to time instead.

We apologise to anyone who was inconvenienced in any way last week. I would add that there is always an open invitation to anyone to come along and see how the bells are rung. For contact details see www.llandudno-parish.org.uk/bells.html
