coronavirus hotspot or holiday hotspot ? ............. who makes the decision ?

The tourism sector in North Wales can start to open from July 6 - as long as the virus stays under control.

First minister Mark Drakeford announced the stay local message will be lifted on that date and the "tourism economy will reopen". Bookings will be allowed from July 13.

This will let visitors stay in holiday cottages, caravan parks and hotels that have adjusted to allow guests to be "self contained".

And it did not tale long for the news to spread............Birmingham Mail

Wales announces people from England can holiday there from July 6 as borders reopen to tourists
UK staycations are set to be hugely popular this year, according to tourism experts, and Wales could capitalise on a boom in UK-based holidays

Co-op bosses shut store as staff self isolating with coronavirus symptoms
The Holyhead outlet was closed and a deep clean carried out as a precautionary measure.

It comes amid a major outbreak on the island with 58 confirmed cases at the 2 Sisters abattoir in Llangefni.
The site has closed for two weeks and a mass testing programme has launched on the island for workers and close contacts

This is worrying, on several levels.  The company itself has a dodgy track record. In 2017 Tesco food standards inspectors unearthed a series of “major” process issues at a second 2 Sisters Food Group factory, on the same weekend that separate concerns prompted the closure of the UK’s largest chicken supplier’s West Bromwich site.

Chicken handling and safety procedures should go hand in hand, but it seems that 2 Sisters management are not that good at following the rules.

With the relaxing of rules, there are a lot of stories appearing to remind us, that we still need to follow the basics, hygiene and safe distance rules etc, the 75 cases at the Anglesey chicken plant, show how it can suddenly spread, and overseas travel UK tourists can visit Spain without having to quarantine on arrival, what about when they return to the UK  _

Public Health Wales confirms Covid cases associated with 2 Sisters abattoir risen to 75
The poultry processing plant on Anglesey has been temporarily closed due to a coronavirus outbreak.

Coronavirus: What is a second wave and is one coming?
Coronavirus is far from over. Some countries are still dealing with large epidemics, but even those currently controlling the virus fear "the second wave".
The second phase of Spanish flu a century ago was deadlier than the first.

So, is a second wave inevitable? And how bad could it be?   Cont   https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-53113785

This whole corvid business is getting monotonous. Why we in the UK are going out of our way to do things differently is beyond me.
Jurgen Klopp is just a ( wonderful) football manager/coach but he makes so much sense talking about issues that are made more complex than necessary.

In the news this morning Germany's R has jumped up considerably in the last 24 hours. They too have problems with meat processing plants which apparently are ideal host environments for the virus.

Certainly looking like meat and poultry processing plants are danger points.

https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/north-wales-county-uks-highest-18458163

So Denbighshire has an infection rate of  728 per 100,000 people which is top in the UK. Conwy comes in the top 10 at No 9 and 529.9 per 100,000.
That's 1-150 people for Denbighshire, 1-200 in Conwy but I don't know of anyone who has had it, how about you?
I was talking about this to someone earlier today who assured me that she knew 2 people who had had it. I asked for further details and she said they had had a sore throat and had rang the 112 helpline who told them to self isolate for 14 days. They were never tested though but does the fact that they rang the helpline count as a confirmed case even though it might have been a sore throat for other reasons?
I'm baffled.

It cannot be a confirmed case if they were not tested.

However, their symptoms were the gateway to a test, or at least they have been for a while now.

Trouble is, some get through it with almost no symptoms while others are either seriously damaged for life or die.

"seriously damaged for life or die."

I have noticed the increase in various reports recently, mentioning the recovery time, the most recent a doctor who got the virus 11 weeks ago, and has gone through "physical hell", and is still suffering from memory loss, I think we hear about the infected cases and deaths, but the damage caused to some of those who "recover" is just becoming apparent.

Back to my earlier point, does anyone actually know somebody who has had the virus ? Over 100 people in Llandudno alone should have done based on a population of 20,000. Colwyn Bay has a population of over 30,000 so they should have had nearly 200 cases.
So, where are these people and of those that have survived how are they recovering?
I know of no one .

I'm saying where are all the supposed cases here in Conwy? Does anyone have first hand knowledge of anyone and their experience here if they have had it.

Medical records are confidential, so they're unlikely to be revealed. But your use of 'supposed' implies you may not believe they exist.
