A bit of humor from Brisbane, Australia.

Our next door neighbor, Tara, was born in NY, USA. She recently phoned her mum in NY and said the greater Brisbane area was under severe lockdown.  Her mum's response was "Gosh, how many cases do you have?". The response? "Just one".

However, to put this into context. The one case identified was the UK strain of Covid 19. Placing the greater Brisbane area into a 3 day lock down (Saturday to Monday) with compulsory mask wearing any time we went outside our front door was a great idea. It allowed for a catch-up period for contact tracing whilst limiting possible transmissions.

No further random spread of this Covid variant has been identified so we are back to an almost normal existence.

Our heart goes out to all other countries experiencing unfathomable numbers of new cases, hospital admissions, and deaths as a result of this pandemic. Stay strong, stay aware, and stay safe.

The stunning scarecrows taking over North Wales village and 'lifting' the community in lockdown
Dozens have popped up around Rossett including Batman, Paddintgon Bear, a Dalek and the Gruffalo

From Batman to Beetlejuice, a Dalek to Paddington Bear, Cinderella to Deadpool, The Gruffalo or even a recreation of the wolf and the three little pigs, they've been scaring the crows away in their own unique way.

They have been set up by residents and local businesses for the village's first Scarecrow Festival, which also takes in the communities of Trevalyn and Burton.

North Wales will be 'lit up' to remember those lost to Covid on lockdown anniversary
Here's how you can get involved from home too.............

People are being encouraged to take part in a number of activities on March 23, which include:

Drawing and placing a 'yellow heart' in the window which will see a way of getting children be involved.
Placing yellow fairy lights in windows
Tying a yellow ribbon to a tree or fencing within your garden
Checking-in on someone you know who has lost a loved one during the pandemic (adhering to current Covid restrictions while doing so).
In-conjunction with the 'light up', the Covid-19 families support groups will be hosting two minute silences on the day taking place at 12 noon and 8pm on, Tuesday March 23.
