Another 19 cases of coronavirus have been reported across North Wales, according to the latest update from Public Health Wales on Monday (June 7).

The new positive tests bring the total number of cases in the region to 35,334 since the start of the pandemic.

Public Health Wales is no longer publishing daily figures on Saturdays, so the lag in data means today's update covers the 48-hour period up to 9am on Sunday.

This means numbers reported on Mondays are likely to be around double the usual 24-hour figures.

Across the whole of Wales, 75 new cases were recorded, bringing the total number in the country to 213,166 since the start of the pandemic.

Meanwhile Conwy had the country's highest weekly infection rate - 30.7 - in the seven days up to June 2.
It was more than three times the national rate, which was 9.4 per 100,000 people for the same period. The rate for the whole of Wales includes cases where a location could not be determined, but excludes those resident outside Wales.

Betsi Cadwaladr as a whole: 19 new cases - total 35,334

Anglesey : 1 new case - total 2,321
Conwy: 5 new cases - total 3,947
Denbighshire: 2 new cases - total 4,361

I don't know if this statement was in those reports Steve but it's quite important.

Despite a lag in the figures, latest data appear to show Llandudno Junction North & Deganwy as the epicentre of the outbreak  We don't seem to get much info about this Indian variant on the Welsh TV news, perhaps if it happened in South Wales we would have heard more.

I did hear something that they had traced the 35 cases reported and found they were all people who had returned from outside UK.  Yet nothing said about where they were from so that we could avoid people we know who had been there - that would help to stop spreading the problem.
Presumably not PC to do so.
