Covid-19 infection rates are continuing to fall in the northern half of Wales with many districts now seeing little or no virus.

Sporadic outbreaks are still apparent, however, and the relaxation of school and travel regulations may yet have an effect on next week’s figures from Public Health Wales.

Overall, all of Wales’ local authorities are now reporting fewer than 30 cases per 100,000 people in the most recent seven-day period.

Across Wales, the national infection rate stands at 16.7 cases per 100,000 people.

Just two districts in North Wales were cause for minor concern.
A couple of cases were reported in Wrexham West on Friday, which has seen at least one case per day over the past week, giving it an R Rate of 2.200.

Two cases were also recorded in Llandudno Town & Gogarth, where the R Rate stands at 2.000. However the weekly average number of cases here is less than one per day.

Public Health Wales has stopped publishing online coronavirus data on Saturdays.
