ALMOST 70 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed across the North Wales region.

The latest Public Health Wales (PHW) figures released this afternoon (March 27) show that there have now been 34,429 lab-confirmed cases of the virus identified from the combined counties since the outbreak of the pandemic.

A total of 68 of the 201 Welsh cases reported in today's update came from North Wales.

Anglesey – 12 (17.1 per 100,000 population)
Conwy – 7 (6 per 100,000 population)
Denbighshire – 15 (15.7 per 100,000 population)
Flintshire – 7 (4.5 per 100,000 population)
Gwynedd – 17 (13.6 per 100,000 population)
Wrexham – 10 (7.4 per 100,000 population)
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board – the largest health board in Wales – has reported 929 people have sadly died since the start of the pandemic, an increase of one since yesterday's update.

Across Wales, another 201 Covid cases were confirmed in the latest figures, meaning that 208,895 people are now known to have contracted the coronavirus since the pandemic began.

There were seven newly reported deaths, meaning the number of people to have died with confirmed cases of coronavirus sadly remains at 5,505 in Wales.

Headline figures show that, across Wales, more than 1.3m people have had their first Covid-19 jab. Of that figure, a 400,743 have completed the two-dose treatment.

A TOTAL of 37 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed across the North Wales region.

The latest Public Health Wales (PHW) figures released this afternoon (March 28) show that there have now been 34,466 lab-confirmed cases of the virus identified from the combined counties since the outbreak of the pandemic.

Across the whole of Wales a total of 171 new cases are reported.

It comes as First Minister Mark Drakeford said this morning that some coronavirus measures are likely to still be in place by the end of the year.

New figures from Public Health Wales show the rates in Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd are all climbing.

Today's figure shows the number of cases per 100,000 of population is 118.5 - up on yesterday's figure of 114.2.

There have also been 24 new Covid cases reported today within the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board that covers North Wales.

No new deaths have been recorded in the North Wales region, leaving the overall Covid death toll since the pandemic began at 929.

Across Wales, 125 more cases have been reported today, bringing the total to 209,191 - and there has been one further death recorded, making the death toll 5,506 since the pandemic began.

The number of new coronavirus cases in North Wales continues to fall, the latest data shows.

Public Health Wales figures released on Tuesday (March 30) show that 33 new cases have been confirmed in the region.

MORE than 30 new cases of covid-19 have been reported across North Wales, health chiefs have confirmed.

Public Health Wales announced on Monday afternoon that 189 new cases of the virus have been reported across Wales, in addition to a further eight deaths.

The organisation has said its covid-19 data dashboard was not updated on Friday or Sunday, meaning today's figures represents 48 hours of data - as will tomorrow's.

Of the new cases across Wales, 32 were reported in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area.

Public Health Wales also confirmed the number of suspected covid-19 deaths in lab confirmed cases in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area now stands at 932.

Dr Giri Shankar, Incident Director for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak response at Public Health Wales, said: “Mirroring arrangements at Christmas time, we did not publish Coronavirus data on our dashboard on Good Friday (April 2) or on Easter Sunday (April 4).

"We anticipated that the reported case numbers produced on Monday and Tuesday April 2021 would therefore be around double the usual 24 hour figure.

Public Health Wales announced on Saturday that 130 new new cases of the virus have been reported across Wales.

No further deaths were reported.
