Three more hospital deaths linked to coronavirus have been reported in North Wales.

The latest data from Public Health Wales shows that the death toll from the virus in the region covered by the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is now 880.
The deaths were the only ones reported across Wales in the latest daily update, and the national death toll now stands at 5,343.

The news comes as statistics released today, Monday, March 1 also show that 78 more cases have been reported in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area that covers North Wales.

It brings the total number of cases since the pandemic arrived in Wales just over a year ago to 32,901.

The new data shows that Conwy has reported the most new cases with 22.

A month ago on February 1, 181 cases were reported in North Wales along with two deaths.
Today across all of Wales, 193 new cases were reported, taking the overall national total to 203,818.

A further 8,600 tests have been carried out in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of tests to 2,721,811.

In addition, a total of 925,669 people have now had a first dose of the vaccine, while the number of people who have had both doses now stands at 103,819.

Figures released by Public Health Wales reveal that as of March 2, there were a total of 31 new cases confirmed across the region covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

This can be broken down to 10 cases in Wrexham, nine in Flintshire, one in Conwy, three in Anglesey, five in Gwynedd, and three in Denbighshire.

These figures take the total overall number of confirmed cases in the region to date to 32,932.

There has been one new suspected COVID-related death across Wales.

To date, the total number of people in Wales who have died after testing positive for coronavirus stands at 5,344.

So far, 1,662,085 people have undergone coronavirus tests in Wales.

THERE were more than 60 new coronavirus cases newly confirmed in North Wales, according to the latest public health data.

The 63 cases in the Betsi Cadwalader Health Board area can be broken down to: six in Anglesey, 10 in Conwy, eight in Denbighshire, 13 in Flintshire, nine in Gwynedd, and 17 in Wrexham..

The seven-day rate is now 57 per 100,000 members of the population in Wales.

There are only a small number of areas in Wales with rates higher than 80/100k, but two of these are in North Wales. Gwynedd's rate is 92.3/100k while Conwy's is 87.9/100k.

The rates in Flintshire and Wrexham have fallen in recent weeks, and are currently 67.3/100k in Flintshire and 64/100k in Wrexham. The rate in Denbighshire is 52.2/100k.

There were 208 new cases confirmed in Wales as a whole, meaning that there have now been 204,196 positive results from the 1,665,909 individuals tested.

CORONAVIRUS cases across North Wales continue to decline, latest figures show.
Data released by Public Health Wales on March 4 shows that a total of 83 new Covid cases were reported in the North.

This can be broken down to six in Anglesey, six in Conwy, 11 in Denbighshire, 24 in Flintshire, 11 in Gwynedd and 25 in Wrexham.
The Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board sadly reported a further six deaths, bringing the total to 887.

The rolling seven day cases from February 21 to 27 shows Gwynedd as having the highest number of cases per 100,000 people.
Denbighshire: 46 per 100,000
Wrexham: 63.3 per 100,000
Anglesey: 65.7 per 100,000
Flintshire: 59.6 per 100,000
Conwy: 89.6 per 100,000
Gwynedd: 94.7 per 100,000

The national picture:
Across Wales, a total of 267 cases were reported across the country.
Sadly, a further 13 people lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 5,366.
The average seven-day rate has fallen to 53 cases per 100,000 people.

Data released by Public Health Wales on March 4 shows that a total of 951,540 people have received their first dose of the vaccine and 139,445 received their second dose.

Another 85 cases of coronavirus have been reported across North Wales as of Friday (March 5) - with six more deaths recorded over the last 48 hours.

It takes the total of deaths across the region to 887 - up from 881 on Wednesday.

Technical problems with the Tableau dashboard used by Public Health Wales meant a breakdown of deaths for health boards across Wales was not available on Thursday afternoon.
This means it is not known if the new deaths were added to the total today or yesterday.

Meanwhile two parts of the region continue to have the highest coronavirus infection rates in the whole of Wales.
Gwynedd is the local authority with the overall highest seven-day rate of 89.1 per 100,000, down from 94.7 on Thursday.
Conwy is second with a seven-day rate of 83.6 cases per 100,000, down from 89.6.

Twelve more people have died with coronavirus in Wales, while 230 new positive cases have been identified.
Nationally, there have now been 5,378 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The infection rate across Wales is now 50.9 cases per 100,000 of population based on the seven days up to February 28, a fall from the figure of 53.1 reported on Thursday.

Another 12,362 tests were carried out across Wales in the last 24 hours, up from 11,728 yesterday.

The total number of people who have received a first dose of Covid-19 vaccine is now 967,042, with 154,819 receiving a two-dose course.

Of the 85 new cases reported in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area, there were:

THE latest covid-19 case data for North Wales has been released.
Public Health Wales announced on Saturday that 195 new cases of the virus have been reported across Wales, in addition to a further seven deaths.

Of the new cases, 70 were reported in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area.

There were:
-14 in Conwy
-14 in Gwynedd
-14 in Flintshire
-13 in Wrexham
-9 in Denbighshire
-6 on Anglesey

Public Health Wales confirmed the total number of suspected covid-19 deaths in lab confirmed cases in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area now stands at 890.  up from 881 on Wednesday.

 56 new cases of covid-19 have been reported across North Wales, health chiefs have said.

Public Health Wales announced on Sunday that 152 new cases of the virus have been announced across Wales, in addition to a further 18 deaths.

14 in Gwynedd
11 in Conwy
10 in Wrexham
9 in Flintshire
6 in Denbighshire
6 on Anglesey

“This does vary between local authority areas and therefore we remind the public that Level 4 restrictions are still in place.

'Encouraging' signs as Wales reports first day with zero COVID-19 deaths since early September

OVER FIFTY new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed across North Wales by health officials on Monday.

There have now been almost 33,340 lab-confirmed cases of the virus identified from the combined counties since the outbreak of the pandemic - after more cases were confirmed by Public Health Wales (PHW) in the latest figures released on March 8.

PHW confirmed that 52 of the latest 164 Welsh cases (31 per cent) came from the northern region.
• Anglesey – Five (7.1 per 100,000 population)
Conwy – 10 (8.5 per 100,000 population)
• Denbighshire – Two (2.1 per 100,000 population)
• Flintshire – 10 (6.4 per 100,000 population)

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board – the largest health board in Wales – has reported 901 people have sadly died since the start of the pandemic, according to PHW data.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics, which are considered a stronger indicator of the overall impact of the virus, and which are based on all deaths where COVID is mentioned on the death certificate, stand at 1,280 for the health board area.

The national picture:
Across Wales, another 164 COVID cases were confirmed in the latest figures, meaning that 205,202 people are now known to have contracted the coronavirus since the pandemic began.

Monday saw no newly reported deaths, meaning the number of people to have died with confirmed cases of coronavirus remains at 5,403 in Wales.

These figures take the total overall number of confirmed cases in the region to date to 33,398.

There have been three new suspected COVID-related death across Wales.

It was surprising yesterday to see Conwy's figures so high, that I marked them red, (above) today's DP story explains the high numbers....

Seventeen Covid-19 infections have been registered at a boarding school near Llandudno.

The outbreak was confirmed by Conwy county council on Tuesday afternoon as being centred on a private boarding school, St David's College, off Wormhout Way.

Another 64 cases of coronavirus have been reported across North Wales today (March 12), according to the latest statistics.

The newly discovered cases mean that since the start of the pandemic Betsi Cadwaladr has suffered from a total of 33,592 cases.

Conwy has the third-highest rate at 68.3.
However, every area within Betsi Cadwaldr has a higher infection than the national average of 41.1.

At the same time as the number of cases was reported, Public Health Wales also revealed that one more person had died from the virus in North Wales it brings the total number of coronavirus-related deaths to 907 in the region.
