There have been 21 further positive coronavirus tests recorded in North Wales in the past 24 hours, according to new figures released by Public Health Wales.
Across Wales, there are now 19,681 confirmed cases following a rise of 110.

In the area covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board there are now 5,048, according to the latest case numbers released today (September 15).

The number of deaths recorded in North Wales remains at 420, according to Public Health Wales.

There were 7,902  tests carried out yesterday - bringing the total to 673,166 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Deaths stand at 1,597 with no new ones reported in the past 24 hours.

Across Wales, there are now 19,880 confirmed cases following a rise of 199.
In the area covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, there are now 5,098, according to the latest case numbers released today (September 16).

The number of deaths recorded in North Wales remains at 420, according to Public Health Wales.
There were 9,831  tests carried out yesterday - bringing the total to 682,997 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Deaths stand at 1,597 with no new ones reported in the past 24 hours.

PUBLIC health officials have released the latest figures for Wales as the country continues to see an increase of new cases daily.

Just under 170 new coronavirus cases have been reported to Public Health Wales in the last 24 hours, with data showing a rise in every corner of the country.

Of this number, 19 positive tests came from areas in the North Wales region covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB).

These figures are broken down to include five in Conwy, four each from the Denbighshire, Flintshire and Gwynedd areas and two in Wrexham.

Nationally, there have been a total of 20,048 cases since records began.

Today, September 17, ends the long-standing period without a death linked to the virus.

Latest figures say that three people have sadly lost their lives to coronavirus bringing the overall total to 1,600.

One of these people are registered as being in the care of BCUHB – the largest health board in Wales – which now records 421 deaths during the pandemic.          ref Pioneer

World wide we've now passed the 30m cases point and deaths, although rising more slowly, are now approaching a million. Of course, that figure only includes deaths that were directly attributable to Covid; early in the pandemic, many will have died without having been included in the count.

I’ve been taking heart from the fact that whilst cases have been rising steadily, and then more steeply... there were very very Covid patients in hospitals, and very few deaths.
However, there are signs now that those numbers too are on the rise.
It’s not a rise in the same ratio as the cases, but, it’s unwelcome nevertheless.

One local point I would make though,  Llandudno has been pretty much rammed with visitors for the past 8 weeks, but in the Llandudno area there has been no apparent spike in cases.
Given the nature of our geography, (a narrow peninsula), and the low number of days where infection is usually confirmed, I’d say we’ve got away with it.

In other news, my old Mum is imprisoned in a Llandudno care home, and even the pitiful outside visits we have been allowed, were stopped three days ago due to a member of staff testing positive.
However, after four days, the lockdown is over, as it turned out to be a false positive.  Phew!

Good news indeed, F. On a less hopeful note, however, the global death rate is now, as you say, starting to rise more quickly and the latest forecast is that we, here, will probably witness a peak in illnesses and deaths around Christmas.

Even more depressing is that although the Govt has imposed new, stricter lockdown conditions on Merseyside and the Wirral, folk living there are allowed to travel...

WALES has seen an increase in new coronavirus cases, latest figures show.           ref Pioneer
Data released by Public Health Wales on September 19 shows that there had been 212 confirmed new cases across Wales, of which just 23 were in the North Wales region.

This included seven in Flintshire, seven in Conwy, four in Denbighshire, three in Wrexham and two in Anglesey.
Two new deaths were reported across Wales, which came under the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board, taking the total death toll to 423 - the highest across the country.

Dr Chris Williams, Incident Director for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak response at Public Health Wales, said: “We are now seeing a steady increase in cases in many communities across Wales, and our investigations show that many of these have been transmitted due to a lack of social distancing.

“We are also seeing an increase in the number of people who are seriously ill and have been admitted to hospital with COVID-19.

Data released by Public Health Wales on September 20 shows that 21 new coronavirus cases were reported in the North Wales region.

Of which were seven in Denbighshire, six in Flintshire, three in Wrexham, two in Anglesey, two in Conwy and one in Gwynedd.

Wrexham remains the county with the highest number of positive cases with 1,481 compared to 869 in Flintshire, 868 in Denbighshire, 808 in Conwy, 665 in Gwynedd and 495 in Anglesey.

The Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board reported no new deaths meaning the total remains at 423 - the highest in Wales.
Wales recorded a further rise of 199 new cases, but no new deaths.
Since recording began, a total of 456,192 people have been tested for the virus.

This news comes as parts of Wales prepare to face new local restrictions from tomorrow (September 22).

Deaths across Wales stand at 1,603 with no new reports added in the past 24 hours.
