A further eight people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in Wales, bringing the total number to 1,282.

Public Health Wales today recorded 141 new known cases, meaning 13,556 people have tested positive for the disease in Wales, although the actual number is likely to be much higher.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has 67 new cases today, bringing the total number to 2,577 in North Wales.

The health board area recorded the highest number of cases in Wales in the last 24 hours yet again - more than double Cwm Taf Morgannwg's figure of 26 which was the second highest.

The total number of deaths in North Wales is 239, but the number doesn't include some deaths within the community.

Since the outbreak began, 204 people have now tested positive in Anglesey, 490 in Conwy, 542 in Denbighshire, 440 in Flintshire, 389 in Gwynedd and 512 in Wrexham.

Wrexham saw the highest jump with 22 new cases overnight.        ref DP

Public Health Wales today recorded 97 new known cases, meaning 13,653 people have tested positive for the disease in Wales, although the actual number is likely to be much higher.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has 42 new cases today, bringing the total number to 2,619 in North Wales.

The region now has just 35 fewer cases than the Cardiff area, but that area recorded less than a third of the cases North Wales recorded today.

The health board area recorded the highest number of cases in Wales in the last 24 hours yet again - more than double Cwm Taf Morgannwg's figure of 19 which was the second highest.

The total number of deaths in North Wales is 242, but the number doesn't include some deaths within the community.

The latest data from Public Health Wales reveals that there have been 30 further cases of coronavirus confirmed in North Wales.

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board confirmed that, as of May 28, their figures show the following breakdown of newly identified cases of COVID-19 locally:

Anglesey - One new case
Conwy - Four new cases
Denbighshire - Nine new cases
Flintshire - One new cases
Gywnedd - Four new cases
Wrexham - 11 new cases
The total number of cases by county stand at 208 on Anglesey, 395 in Gwynedd, 444 in Flintshire, 497 in Conwy, 529 in Wrexham and 546 in Denbighshire.

BCUHB sadly reported a further 10 deaths – bringing the regional total to 252 people.

Nationally, a total of 14 further people have died bringing the total number of deaths linked to the virus to 1,307 in Wales.

A total of 72 new cases of coronavirus were recorded across Wales, bringing the national total to 13,725 confirmed cases.  ref PIONEER

North Wales now has the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country after 56 more people tested positive.

Figures released by Public Health Wales show that a total of 2,705 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in North Wales, the highest number for any health board area in Wales.

The Cardiff area previously had the highest number, but recorded 12 new cases in the last period and now has 2,681 cases.

The figures show that, in terms of the rate of infection per 100,000 people, Rhondda Cynon Taf has the highest proportion of cases, with 662.6 per 100,000 of the population.

Denbighshire now has the second highest rate of infection, with 604.2 cases per 100,000 of the population.

It was also announced that a further 10 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in Wales.

It brings the total number of deaths so far in the country to 1,317.

Public Health Wales today recorded 102 new known cases, meaning 13,827 people have tested positive for the disease in Wales, although the actual number is likely to be much higher.

North Wales recorded the highest number of cases in Wales in the last 24 hours yet again.

The total number of deaths in North Wales so far is 255, but the number doesn't include some deaths within the community.

Since the outbreak began, 214 people have now tested positive in Anglesey, 514 in Conwy, 576 in Denbighshire, 447 in Flintshire, 406 in Gwynedd and 548 in Wrexham.

Of the 35 new cases reported within the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area there were; 10 in Gwynedd, seven in Denbighshire, six on Anglesey, five in Wrexham, four in Conwy and three in Flintshire.

The total number of cases to be reported across north Wales is now 2,740.

Public Health Wales also confirmed on Saturday that the total number of deaths reported across Wales now stands at 1,331.

The total number of deaths reported within the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area is 259.

MORE than half of newly confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported across north Wales, health chiefs have said.  ref Pioneer

Public Health Wales confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that 67 new cases of the virus have been reported across Wales - 36 of which were in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area.

The total number of cases across North Wales has now reached 2,823‬.

Public Health Wales also confirmed that the total number of deaths reported across Wales now sadly stands at 1,354 – which includes seven new deaths across the country.

Of those, 273 have been reported in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board area – one of the highest local figures on record.

In terms of the new North Wales cases confirmed on June 2, there were 13 in Conwy, 10 in Denbighshire, six in Gwynedd, three in Wrexham, three on Anglesey and one in Flintshire.

The figures follow the start of Wales' Test, Trace and Protect strategy.

There have now been a total of 2,122 deaths involving coronavirus in Wales, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

These are deaths of people confirmed or suspected of having the virus up to 22 May.
In Wales, there were 134 deaths involving Covid-19 - the lowest weekly total since the start of April.
The virus accounted for 19.4% of all deaths registered.
This is the fourth successive fall in the weekly total.

New heat maps have revealed how coronavirus infection rates have increased in North Wales, with Denbigshire now the second highest area in the country.

Data released by Public Health Wales (PHW) showed people are still contracting the infection across the region's six counties.

Over the last week, Gwynedd has increased to a rate of 357.3 infected per 100,000 people, up from 325.9; Anglesey's numbers have risen to 334.1 from 305.5; and Conwy has increased from 438.6 to 476.1.

Denbighshire still has the highest level of infection in the North Wales population at 676.1, which has risen from 601.9; Wrexham has risen from 403.1 to 427.3; and Flintshire has increased to 298.5 from 286.4.

Only Rhondda Cynon Taf with 688.9, has a higher infection rate per population in Wales than Denbighshire
