Hugo but how did it take the police that long to stop them, everyday we are on the westshore and packed with cars, where are the police they could park by the pumping station and ask nicely where are they from, you can tell when they are not local they think they can stroke the goats 😂😂

You have to remember just how far Police numbers were cut before the lockdown. There are only so many of them that they just can't be every ware and do all the social side that their job now requires them to do as well.

I agree with you Blongb the Police numbers ( and the NHS  numbers )  have been cut so much the Police have come under a lot of pressure and it's starting to tell on the force.
A new law is coming about Travellers and their illegal camping activities and the Police are expected to deal with that as well as all the other things they have to do, it's going to be very difficult for them and I don't envy them one bit

One good thing I did read recently was that the North Wales Police appear to have all the new recruits they have been allocated but I don't know if the numbers are part of the 20.000  officers nationwide that Boris has promised for the UK

We have meetings with the police quite often, the Sgt said when he goes in in the morning if he gets 2  999 calls come he has to decide which one to attend it's that understaffed, we also have to rely on the Cheshire police to come in to help, we asked a pcso why they didn't become full time Bobby they said a new constable would be on a lot less pay.

I noticed on TV the other night pictures of Heathrow Airport and the London tube, jam packed, no social distancing and very few masks, I found a story in the London Evening Standard , which seem to highlight the inadequacy of our border controls regarding quarantine procedures, those from infected countries can travel here from Europe ?

The “last flight out of Dubai” touched down at Heathrow 12.58pm on Friday, beating the UK travel ban deadline by two minutes.

As of 1pm on Friday direct flights from the Gulf nation are banned, slamming shut the world’s busiest international airline route between Dubai and London. Anyone without British residency who has been in the country is barred from entering the UK.

Dubai, the world’s busiest airport for international traffic, is a major connecting hub for passengers travelling to Europe from South Africa, where a more-infectious strain was first discovered.
The UAE has also maintained lax lockdown restrictions during the pandemic

Lets hope this is instigated and enforced......."This week the Home Office announced that travellers from countries on the red list — which now runs to 33 countries, including Portugal and most of South America — will soon be subject to mandatory hotel quarantine, although it is not clear when this will come into effect."

BA flight BA104 from Dubai touches down at London Heathrow two minutes before Covid travel ban kicks in

Heathrow Airport queues due to Border Force
Passengers at Heathrow Airport are facing queues because of an "ongoing issue" with Border Force E-Gates for passports.
One person stuck in the queues on Friday morning (November 23) tweeted a photo of the delays

I hope that the travel quarantine regulations are enforced properly as I'm afraid that a lot of people who are told to quarantine or self isolate will not do so unless they have no alternative.
I know one person who traveled to another country that was on the UK banned list and she seriously broke the quarantine regulations within days of arriving home.
Furthermore she had two visits to an island in the Med and all three holidays were within the space of less than 6 weeks         &shake&

Many more are getting away with it than are getting caught, but each one getting caught should be an example for the idiots who are thinking about breaking the law
