Wales to restrict social gatherings to six people indoors to reduce spread of coronavirus.

RULES about changes to who people can meet safely will be announced by Welsh Government today.

The First Minister of Wales, Mark Drakeford will today (September 11) confirm changes to the rules on meeting people indoors to help prevent the spread of coronavirus in Wales.

The changes come as parts of Wales have seen an increase in cases of the virus linked to people meeting and socialising with others indoors but without social distancing.

From Monday, September 14, a new limit of six people will be introduced on the number of people who can meet indoors at any one time.
All six must belong to the same extended household group.

There will be no change to the current rules which allow up to four households to form an exclusive extended household in Wales, and no change to the rules on meeting outdoors.

We have recently bought some new 3 layer reusable face masks for future use, at the same time we added an order of breathing bracket inserts, and although only trying them at home, I was very impressed, as it was definitely easier to breath and not so claustrophobic.

96p each or 6 for £5

Steve, thanks very much for that tip on the breathing brackets and I'm sure that they will come in very handy now, especially as it is compulsory now in Wales to wear them in shops etc
Mrs H normally does all the shopping and she has been wearing the masks for ages but today I was in the Chemists and had the mask on but I had a bit of a wait and found it uncomfortable and hot.
I'm sure that the brackets will help and have just ordered a pack of 5 for £3.95. with P & P at £4.95            $good$

Hugo, you are very welcome, I tried them again last night for an hour while watching TV without any problems, another bonus it stops my glasses misting, and it seams to keep the mask in place even when talking.

We have just got to get on with it Steve as this virus doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon and anything that helps is a bonus.
Thanks again for the tip

Steve,  those brackets I have ordered have now been received and I tried them on yesterday.     They do actually work and I found that the masks were more breathable and not so hot          $good$
I haven't mastered the correct way of fixing them yet but when I took the mask off I still had the bracket stuck to my face and Mrs H thought that I looked like Hannibal Lecter so we both had a good laugh over it

Glad it helped, mine fitted perfectly, I think they were made for my chin ! ! Mrs H is going to try using the fixing points to attach inside a mask to see if it holds position better, but she still prefers the bracket for easier breathing.

An article in Stoke on Trent's local paper..............

The rules you need to know about going on day trips to Wales in a pandemic

With Wales announcing new Covid-19 regulations - what does that mean for holidaymakers?

The Welsh First Minister has advised against new non-essential travel, however, it’s not illegal to have a break away to the country.

Whilst those in areas under local lockdown won’t be able to jump in the car and head to Wales just yet, people in Staffordshire can still visit hotspots like Llandudno and Snowdonia.

The Welsh Government said that it's not prohibiting holidays - whether that's in or out of Wales, despite advising residents to only make essential journeys.

The Welsh Government website states that accommodation, bars and restaurants are open in the country, with Covid-19 safety measures in place.

You will be able to go on holiday with people in your own, or your extended household, but must be limited to six people following the ‘rule of six’ announcement on September 14. Children under 11 are not counted.

Steve,  that link was last updated on the 28th September 2020 and may have been overtaken by recent events.

It's very frustrating for people as the rules keep changing and very little info has come forward so far today and yet the new rules come in force tomorrow.
One thing that they did say on the BBC Wales news today was that only family members who actually live in your house can enter the house.  They also said that you cannot arrange to meet indoors in pubs etc with other family members who don't live with you

If that is correct then I'm scuppered for tomorrow        $drink$

I telephoned CCBC because I couldn't find any information on their website https://gov.wales/conwy-county-borough-lockdown-frequently-asked-questions about how the new restrictions would impact local Hotels and Guesthouses. I was told guests must all leave before 18:30 tomorrow and no new check-ins until after the regulations are eased, which is going to have a significant impact on many, in our small business community.
