PITCH PERFECT
Red-faced council bosses have told contractors to sort out the damage they did when they rendered a football pitch unplayable with their grass cutting machines.
The pitch is on land owned by the Isle of Anglesey County Council who arrange for the pitch to be maintained.
Cllr Trefor Lloyd Hughes, former Football Association of Wales President, said he had asked the contractor to revisit the site.
He said: "Having received complaints on Saturday about the damage at the field I have requested the contractor, via the council, to make good the damage made by them to the satisfaction of Caergybi FC.
"I am also led to believe that there could be new contractors soon due to the contract coming to an end.""Some remedial works have already been undertaken and more will be required.
“We recognise the hard work of volunteers in running a local football teams, like Caergybi FC, and would like to apologise to all associated with the club for the damage caused to the pitch.”
Caergybi FC manager Dale Moffat thanked football fans for their support in the past few days. ref DP
