The 2014 hurricane name list is the same as the 2008 hurricane name list with the exception of three names that were devastating hurricanes in 2008 and thus retired.

Gustav was replaced by Gonzalo, Ike was replaced by Isaias, and Paloma was replaced by Paulette.

"A tree blew on to the roof of a building and ferry crossings have been cancelled as  the aftermath of Hurricane Gonzalo hit North Wales last night.

Gusts of up to 70 miles per hour battered parts of the region with exposed coastal areas the worst hit and the Met Office have issued a yellow "be aware" warning for high winds and heavy rain until 6pm.

The Met Office says winds exceeding  55mph are likely inland, with 60 to 70mph again expected in exposed coastal areas. Hail and wintry showers are also predicted over high ground."

POLICE IN LLANDUDNO: More on the incident at a Llandudno newsagent in Gloddaeth Street now.

A witness has told the Daily Post: "A stretch of pavement has been taped off and there's a hole in the window with police inside talking to staff."
It appears that an Arriva Bus, with passengers aboard, has stopped nearby and is not leaving the scene.

No way, photo's, not with my eyesight......but I must admit, since I learn't to "cut and paste" a couple of months ago, it may be getting out of hand, so I will look for a local CAP anonymous program.... :) :)

Security man at Parc Llandudno stole £10k from pay and display machines

A security supervisor at a retail park stole nearly £10,000 from pay and display parking machines after altering CCTV cameras so he couldn’t be seen, a court heard on Tuesday.
Mark John Forte Evans, 34, of Bryn Gosol Road, Llandudno, was placed under 12 months supervision and must do 250 hours unpaid work. He was given 28 days to pay compensation of £9,899 and £145 costs.

Evans admitted stealing at Parc Llandudno between October last year and June 6. Prosecutor Tracey Willingham told the town’s magistrates he said to police he had alcohol problems at the time and used money to buy drink or lottery tickets. He was getting help.
