Oscar's blog has ceased

One day it may well rise like a Phoenix from the ashes.  $walesflag$

Maybe now someone will run the credits for the list of characters who made it all possible.   :D

hear hear. Trouble is this has happened before.

There was simply no excuse for the failure to moor up. There was no sea worth mentioning and even less wind in the lee of the Orme.

As for the excuse that the weather on the return may be worse - it wasn't - this skipper has form for poor met office interpretation.

Never mind - the Balmoral will do the honours next year. She has a fifty year history with Llandudno and won't let us down.

I do not agree with your comments, the buck stops at the skipper, he has the experience. have you?

Did not know about the Balmoral, so looked into it, and found these links....She's having problems too.

There's a piece in the 2nd. link   " if these ships stop operating, it could have an adverse effect on existing piers" as in another reason to demolish them?

What has the sea state been off Llandudno pier for the past 2 days ?

Comment on Ships of Calmac Forum this morning.............
Instead of spending the whole 2 days anchored off Colwyn Bay, a short visit to the pier would have been good PR after Wednesdays fly past.
Good 15 minute video on there of Wednesdays sailing.

It's all kicking off about "Thoughts Of Nigel", time to buy in the popcorn and take a seat on the front row WWW.

"Jerusalem North MP Guto Bebb  told the House of Commons there was strong evidence that a business associate of former Welsh Secretary David Jones has been involved in a “vicious and nasty local blog”.

The Conservative MP also raised the possibility of North Wales Police “collusion” as he blasted the blog Thoughts of Oscar which has now closed down

I heard that it was a suicide, but don't take that as gospel, it only came via the local grapevine.

North Wales Police has announced it will review a series of complaints made in recent years about a controversial local blog that was condemned this week in the House of Commons.
